I came here because I'm attending the "Master your brain" Udemy course. Totally recommended :D. And yes, I can confirm that I succeeded in life because at least someone believed in me. It's really heartbreaking to see people with very high potential but having no one supporting them. Sad bad true :(
Opposite way.. if that person is a bad and you truly believe that you could change him.. he will change if you believe.. this is the whole issue here..
Interesting point of view... but not all students have this level of empathy... we are talking about young students that are affected positively or negatively by the teachers... I agree that gaining people's support is adventageos but it's a skill that is not so easy to get...
Amazing content as always 😊 unfortunately i was somebody that had nobody believe in me, im spurred on in your amazing course by my children who now believe in me so im finally going places! With your help of course 😊
Pygmalion effect is a type of self fulfilling prophecy. However SFP are larger than that and (also) usually refer to how expectations about ourselves end up becoming true (which is different than Pygmalion). So the Pygmalion effect is a SFP, however a SFP is not necessarily a Pygmalion effect.
There's definitely a superimposed double standard the haves; and a superfluous double bind for the have-nots. MLK has a quote which touched on the Pygmalion Effect. He called out the socialistic benefits for the privileged, in comparison to the systemic rugged individualism for the bootless. And MLK was also quoted for privately saying that the projection of our civil rights movement (for integration, equality, and opportunity) was like leading people into a burning building- but someone has to be the firefighter.

Totally agree. Positive reinforcement helps to a great extent.
It works the opposite way aswell. If you think someone will be a bad person, or are a bad person, they will grow up to be a bad person.

Still working at it day by day. My girlfriend has helped me become a better person mentally and career wise.
The message is great but the sound effects are too loud. I have to turn down the volume but then I can bearly hear you.
I second this comment.
@@redpanda456 and...allthe armwaving is distracting...
I'd love the video without those distracting loud sound effects and even added movie clips. Great content by the way 👍
I'll have our editor take your feedback into account. Thanks.

This is so untrue....I had great expectations from an employer it was a disaster
What is the difference between Pygmalion and a Self Fulfilling Prophecy ?

Well Done Gregory
Thanks Shakira
