VINTAGE PALITOY ACTION MAN SHARPSHOOTER SOLDIER 1981 TO 1983

The Action Man Sharpshooter figure was released in 1981 and featured the last play feature developed for Action Man. A notch was moulded on the rim of the neck attachment hole which allowed the head to stay in the up position mimicking looking down weapon accessories sight. It was the idea of the son of Palitoy Employee John Hawkes who complained that the head of his Action Man wouldn't stay up and came up with his solution. I required minimal development costs and didn't compromises the realism of the figure. In 1983 the last version of Action Man was released with the new Orange Chevron packaging. Included was an ID Tag for the first time since 1970.

Wow awesome didn't know this, as was getting older then and stopped playing with them , and was amazed when they stopped in 84 and star wars was around more and then cartoon toy's started coming in toys smaller thow, thanks Gary 👍🏽

I was a child and avid fan of action man in the early 1980s I guess I didn't notice the change of the box but as a child you just can't wait to get the box open to play with your favourite toy 👍👍
