As far as appearance goes, Sandals Antigua is a much larger and more beautiful resort. My wife and I found the people were friendly but we found the people in Barbados and Jamaica much friendlier. If you are planning to leave the resort both Antigua and Barbados both have yours that you can take to see the island. They are both excellent. We did a land tour of the whole island in both places. We also did a catamaran tour around both islands. They can all be done in a day and are really interesting. Both destinations are safe. Really on the end for me everything was comparable except for the size of the resort (Sandals Antigua has a bigger central pool) and like I said the people in Antigua were a little bit less friendly in comparison to other destinations we have been to. We have been to Antigua twice (once to get married). Barbados only once. We really loved the feel of the island of Barbados. Antiguas beach is larger and nicer I think as well. Actually this resort does not feel crowded at all. There are some resorts in the Dominican and Cancun that have several thousand guests. This one and several of the all inclusive resorts we go to only have a few hundred guests. Sandals, Iberostar, Royalton, and Secrets are top of our list for all inclusive. Some are adults only but the ones that aren’t also have an adults only section. Those areas in our opinion feel quite quiet and relaxing. All being said, you may still find them to busy for your liking. If so there are many smaller boutique hotels and resorts that have less than a hundred guests but that sort of privacy may also come with a higher price tag. All in all we have found that in our experience there is something for everyone in the Caribbean. Thanks for your comment :)

Resorts look nice but are way way too crowded. Certainty not for families, maybe--maybe ok for couples. No way I could relax here.
