Interesting to hear the original opening to the Japanese version of Saber Rider! Was a huge fan of the English version of this cartoon back in the day!!
Saaaaaabeeeer Raaaaaaider! "Whip Cracks" And the Star Sheriffs That's an eternal classic for none Japanese speakers. Cheers, from a Libyan born fan who moved and now living in Japan, for obvious reason 😉
Nice to see the audio carefully synchronized with the visual effects. Not even the Japanese DVD set managed to do that. And it looks terrific too. After watching Bismark in Japanese for gosh 35 years from off-air VHS to DVD to now, it sure is nice to see it finally become something everyone can watch and enjoy.
Nice to see a certified classic brought over uncut! Also, it's impressive what we can do with subtitles these days compared to the 90's, making that Bismarck English logo kind-of resemble the original! (0:21)
It helps that Blu-ray Subtitles are basically images with transparent backgrounds. Gives you a lot of flexibility in the graphics department. Sucks if you ever want to convert/edit the subtitles though.
It's great that Discotek Media have been releasing past cartoon/anime series like Beyblade, Ultimate Muscle, Street Shark, Extreme Dinosaurs and Sonic X onto Blu-Ray into one or two disco with all the episodes. I really do hope they'll released some of my past cartoon/anime series from the 90s, 2000 or beyond in the future like Biker Mice From Mars, Blazing Dragons, Wild West Cowboys of Moo Mesa, Creepy Crawlers, Space Cats, Mucha Lucha, Mary Kate and Ashley in Action, Gormiti Nature Unleashed, Spider Riders, Yo Kai Watch and Cardcaptors (Nelvana) because they deserved to be released at last.
They cant release it in Germany. Discotek is a US based company doing Region A only releases. For it to be released over seas a company over there would have to license it from Toei. The only other option would be for you to purchase a region free Bluray player and import it.
They can't. They are a US based company doing Region A releases only. For it to come out in Germany a company would have to license it over there or you can get a region free Bluray player and import it. Those are the only options.
Damn, do i feel old now. I used to watch this when i was a kid. I watched the english version, one of the shows that helped me learn english. It was called saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs. I remember the opening in english being a banger.
Studio Pierrot also animated Kimagure Orange Road, Yu Yu Hakusho, Ghost Stories, Great Teacher Onizuka, the original Tokyo Mew Mew and Tokyo Ghoul, to name a few. They're currently working on a new Magical Girl anime!
I might actually put money down for this. I grew up watching this but never knew the ending due to sometimes missing an episode here or how TV broadcasting season lengths were decided on.
Didn't bother with the English version of this series. Didn't sit right with me them trying to force the british guy as the MC really really hard. I'll give the JP version a shot though.
They cut out violent scenes and rewrote dialogue and actually did not air 6 episodes due to content so they commissioned 6 new ones that are exclusive to the US version.
It's quite different. And the dub version skipped several of the best episodes of the series which also had significant storyline points. 23, 30, 32, 36 and 42. 30 is the best of all. Actually it manages that with just the second half of the episode. Episode 42 is right up there as the second best episode of the whole series. I suspect 30 is going to shock a lot of people who have no idea what is coming at them.
This one of the VERY RARE occasions where I have to say that the English version for Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs was 100 times better than the original Japanese version.
Wait... blue ray? Does this mean, there are finally subtitles around for the original (other than the fansub for just episode 1)? I kind of wish they'd remake it, and combine the best parts of both the original and americanized verions. Aging April up, making her less lovesick and making Saberrider/Lancelot the leader was a good idea. Replacing their names with callsigns, moving the story from Sol to "the border regions" and making it child-friendly, were bad changes.
Wow, I watched this series as _Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs_ and even as a child, I always felt something was off. The British guy was supposed to be the main character, yet the Japanese guy often felt more like the protagonist; especially in the opening scene, where he’s clearly the center of attention. Even though the editing tried to highlight the British guy in action, the result felt jarring. Everything clicked when I later found out that the American series was adapted from the Japanese series _Star Musketeer Bismarck_ haha. Despite that revelation, I think I still prefer the English theme song; though that might just be nostalgia talking. Cheers from Indonesia! 🍻
This release is a full HD remaster from the original film masters. You would have to be nearly blind to think otherwise. Not sure where you're getting that this picture quality is bad, but you're wrong. The link you provided looks horrible and isn't even Bismark, that's Saber Rider. The SDBD release they did for SR looks better than that link. Nice try, but you're totally out of your element here.
Interesting to hear the original opening to the Japanese version of Saber Rider! Was a huge fan of the English version of this cartoon back in the day!!
they completley rearranged it so that the guy on the horse is the boss not the japanese race driver
Yeah I have the English version.

@@crashblue0815 Yep. I wondered for a long time why was he the one that transform Ramrod and gets to go out with the girl. 😂

I've been waiting years for Bismark to finally be licensed!
Do you know if it'll be dubbed? I love vintage anime and would love to do a review on my channel ❤
@@ReviewJunkee they mention on their website that it's Japanese with English subtitles.

Germany needs it too! Please release here. We have the biggest fanbase since over 20 years

You're releasing Bismark?! Oh hell yes!
I keep listening to this song. It’s amazing.
Awesome looking HD transfer!
Damn, do i feel old now. I used to watch this when i was a kid. I watched the english version, one of the shows that helped me learn english. It was called saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs. I remember the opening in english being a banger.
This looks beautiful!
wow, what a banger of a tune
Love anime with retro futuristic settings, and to top it, a giant mecha.
Instantly preordered
I loveee vintage anime. I hope it's dubbed.
Never seen Bismark looks good 👍
Discotek media is truly a hidden gem yet outstanding anime company next to Sentai filmworks imo

Nice to hear the opening in japenese after seeing the english one in school in Ecuador so many years ago
Soooo sharp 😮
Whoever did the transfer mustve zoomed in way too much.
i think this was the first Anime i ever sah as but it was callt Saber Rider ander star sheriff
Either if it's star musketeers or Saber rider and the star 🌟 🤩 sheriff... it's still phenomenally catchy.
Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs
Can you feel the thunder inside?
@GodzillasaurusJr make the lighting crack as you ride.
@@matane2465 Your destiny will lead you, to where the people need you!
Only now I got to see the show before it became Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs
Would you guys consider Zambot 3 or the original Getter Robo?
More metal heroes? Awesome!👏
Can you feel the thunder inside make the lightning crack as you ride.

@@twistedgaming9185 Don't forget Bleach, Naruto.
I miss this sort of music. It just sounds so good, almost reminds me of Sonic R Music
Now if only we'd have access to Aku Daisakusen Srungle, which was used by Saban for Macron 1....
I might actually put money down for this. I grew up watching this but never knew the ending due to sometimes missing an episode here or how TV broadcasting season lengths were decided on.
I like the red guy!
Didn't bother with the English version of this series. Didn't sit right with me them trying to force the british guy as the MC really really hard. I'll give the JP version a shot though.
So how different is this from the US dub rework? Like vastly different or they just kept the same animation and rewrote the scripts?
They cut out violent scenes and rewrote dialogue and actually did not air 6 episodes due to content so they commissioned 6 new ones that are exclusive to the US version.
In addition they desperately wanted to make Richard Lancelot (Saber Rider) the leader as opposed to Hikari Shinji (Fireball).

This is interesting
pls do not to remake the series. i dont want it to be destroyed
known in America as Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs.
I use watch this when I was a kid holy one of first anime’s I ever watched
So that's where this song came from. Didn't know that it was from the Japanese version of Saber Rider.
Controversial, but i like the English opening more.
classic
Now I'm curious how different is this from it's English adaptation, Saber Rider and the Star Sherrifs.
For starters, Shinji (Fireball) is the team leader 🎌
Film yg hampir terlupakan
Dulu pernah ditayangkan di TVRI ya!
Judulnya Saber Rider and the Star Sherrifs.
Will it have the dubbed version?
That was already released separately
This one of the VERY RARE occasions where I have to say that the English version for Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs was 100 times better than the original Japanese version.
Its a good opening but I still prefer Saber Rider's theme!

Super Sentai
Probably the only instance the US opening (Saber Riders intro is quite up beat) is better.
You can add the og mighty morphin power rangers as well
I can easily see why "Bismark" had to get replaced with "Saber Rider" lol given the general Germanophobia in 20th century US.
When is it from?
Is it just me or anyone else here thinks Galaxy Rangers look a lot like it?
In my country is know Saber Rider and Star Sheriff 😂
The designs are kinda lame, but I can see myself as a kid wanting these as toys.
Looks picture wise pretty bad, Upscales from DVD Material usually look better ( example ua-cam.com/video/snRzaompWwk/v-deo.html ) :-/
