Jeremy Denzell Pedroso Good for you! You remind me of a little boy near where I stay who raids the pantry for seeds too. Mustard, fenugreek, cumin, coriander, fennel, ajwain, a whole variety of lentils, and a few of the healthiest from the batches of ginger, garlic, onions, potatoes, yams, fruit and berries, flax seed, wheat berry, rye berry, corn kernels of organic pop corn, sun flower from bird-seed, wild radish from our walks on trails, all kinds of edible and medicinal plants from hikes, the list is endless. Some grow well. Some peter out after a good start. He has even grown turmeric and cardamom. He does not bother too much about sun and soil requirements. According to him if they want to grow, they will grow anywhere, with just a small difference in flavour and size. As no money is spent, and he takes only a few of each kind to be not even worth a thought. there is no loss. he carries a back-pack with a few plastic bags to fill good soil from wherever he goes for walks. Clay from dry lake beds, silt and sand from streams, leaf compost from woods, crushed gravel from road digs. He also has a small patch he calls his “ Surprise Garden”. He scatters into it any and all seeds that he is reluctant to throw away, from orange pips to guava to watermelon seeds. As the seedlings sprout, he tries to identify them, and the healthy ones he plants in little paper cups and gives away. There is no place left in his garden, and now he has begun to eye his neighbours’ gardens from which to borrow space!

So far, I have Tomatoes (2 varieties), Capsicums (2 varieties), 4 Lettuce, 8 Chili plants (4 varieties), 5 bean plants, 1 cucumber, many radishes (I love them!), Coriander, fresh Fenugreek, Basil, and even Swiss Chard (Silver beet). Grow in tubs and pots. Way to go!

I like this idea very much. My husband and I are elderly and crippled,(I use a wheelchair). When I was first starting to become crippled at our last apartment, I would sit in a chair on our patio and plant in pots. Your way of using small pots would be easier for us now that we are 69 and 70 years old. They would be easier to lift and move around; Also, they take up less space on a small, apartment patio. With the prospect of being able to container garden again, my husband is now very excited about moving to a wheelchair accessible apartment with a sunny patio and I am, too!

Great video! I just wanted to ask, is the soil you use just common soil from the garden/outside or do you buy special soil (in addition to the compost)? I’m new to gardening and soil seems so expensive to buy :(

Beautiful video with excellent clear instructions -- useful for beginners and continuing gardeners alike! And I want to eat the produce right off the screen, it's gorgeous.
I grow a garden in a couple of small beds and containers both. This video gave me some an idea about how to continue harvesting greens indoors (using a grow light I have for seedlings) through my winter here near Chicago. Going to give it a try using the spacing recommendations you provide.

Hi sir, I currently have a few problems in my garden.
My marigolds are growing abnormally curled leaves while it's attacked by leafminers. What can I do with the marigolds?
Also, can you do a video for dahlias and gazanias?

Spray Neem Oil 10ml in 1 litre of water and add some soap water in the solution. Spray the solution every week to avoid pests

Keep the plant in full sun 5-7 hrs is mandatory for healthy growth...water less to avoid leaf curl disease...pinch the top part to cure the plants n remove serve affected leaves ....this will also fill ur plant n make it bushier

Thanks for the reply. Although they are in full sun, they still constantly get affected by leafminers. I'll try using your advice. Thanks!
