Mortalslayer In the smart approach, the gunman is the only one I would NOT be frugal about. Your Hacker (Ricky ftw), and Driver can be skimped on in the smart approach though (no real penalty). You only have Norm Richards (7%), Gustavo Mota (14%) and Packie (12% - if you get him) in the Jewel Job. Mota and Packie pick up all Jewels in smart approach - Norm fumbles, is slow and drops your initial take from the get go. On the bikes (even with a shitty driver), Mota and Packie get to the end fine. Norm will crash out - even if you grab the bag, you still gotta pay casualty costs.
No it is not ok. Packie may be 1.5% more expensive but he won't drop any jewels if collecting, won't die in the escape, or fail to contain the crowd in loud approach. Packie is definitely worth that extra 1.5%.
The guy who plays Michael is retired --- Michael's story has ended: He got his family back He's a movie producer He's a father and husband to his family I doubt he will appear in the next game
You should've picked Packie. He won't drop $400k worth of jewelry and won't crash his bike. Rickie may give a lot less time, but still enough for gold. Karim is still manageable when he doesn't provide directions and good bikes and he doesn't stop in the tunnel if you have a good gunman.
Yea, Karim is nowhere near as bad as he could be. I ran this heist with him yesterday and it doesn't really matter when he stops mid-tunnel or his pick of bikes.

My Method Approach: Loud Driver: Karim Denz (8% Cut) Gunman: Packie McReary (12% Cut) Hacker: Rickie Luken (4% Cut) The goal is to use the worst crew members (except for Packie because he is a good member) because their cut is small which means more money for your characters. After completing each heist your crew members will upgrade and their cut will not not change so you have good members with a small cut. I decided to go loud because after beating the game you get the heist outfit for Michael and Franklin instead of that ugly exterminator outfit ( That's just my opinion).
for the smart approach I've heard the best combo is ricky as the hacker (the experience he gets makes him a good and cheap hacker later on) but getting the jews in time is challenging, packie for the gunman (good gunman for slightly less then the other good gunman although you have to make sure you help him during his random event rather then killing him), karim for the driver although he does make it a bit more challenging in the tunnel network. Doing it like this results in Michael getting paid over a million and over 250 grand for frank
For Smart Approach, choose Karim Denz as Driver, Packie as Gunman and Rickie as Hacker are the best choice. Smart Approach is also the recommended approach for this heist.
Oh just listen to what happens if u never use Karim Denz and pick him to fly the second chopper carrying half the gold in the Obvious version of the Big Score 😂😂

I've tried all above, but the most prestige was to take the worst hacker (only 30s at the jewle store) worst driver (cooler bikes, and dead quiet in the tunnels) and worst gunner (just make sure no one tries to leave the store before you finnished and remember to pick up the bag he drops on the freeway) easier said then done but very rewarding :)
Nicely done, but I usually go with Rickie Lukens for the Hacker. He gives you only 50 seconds, and since that's the limit for the Quick Grab, its better to use the cheap hacker than the expensive one since you are only going to use the 50 seconds out of the one and a half minutes she gives you anyways. Plus, the game itself is giving you the time limit, so you don't have to worry about going over the time limit for it.

Since they lay low after this heist , once you unlock Trevor, you'll be stuck as him for a while. Once you passed about six missions, you will be able to switch again
Packie is the gunman that gives you the most bang for the buck (good skills, but isn't the most expensive). Unless you use the cheap gunmen (who tend to die on heists) he'll save you a lot of money compared to Gus (the 14% gunman).
The approach id go with Decent Gunman (Packie McCreary), Cheap Driver Karim Denz, Cheap Hacker Rickie Lukens. You might as well get the maximum amount of money for the completion of the job because bottom line, hiring the pro's is more of a Post Job Replay for Gold decision. Which means do the storyline mission with cheap hacker, cheap driver and a decent gunman so you can get the maximum amount of money from the take. Then go back and replay the mission, hire the pros so you can get that Gold Star rating without having to worry about the money you get post-heist.
When I went on my second run of GTA V I was at this heist where a funny glitch occured. (Smart Approach) What I chose for my crew was Packie, Rickie and the best Driver. Worst payout crew (least money) Approach - Loud Driver - Eddie 14% will bring Sanchezes and is good in the tunnels but is expensive Hacker - Chris 10% will set off the alarm and trigger a hazard pay deduction Gunman - Norm 7% will drop the jewels and will get killed in the tunnel triggering a hazard pay deduction 31% of the cut for the crew reduced to 26% because of a hazard pay deduction from the hacker and gunman.
The best combination is: Karim Denz Rickie Luckens and Packie McReary (Norm Richards will die during the chase, and even franklin picks up his bag, there will be a minus called "casualty expenses")
You can get 1M with M. with this Set-up : Shitty Driver, Shitty Gunman(Collect his bag when he dies, get ready when you drop on the highway) and the Lifeinvader hacker. It's enough time to get all the jewels and if you're not scare to drive on mud with speed bikes, it's the way to go :)
Good Gunman + bad driver + bad hacker is the way to go. A cheap gunman can't survive here, and you need him for the final heist. Bad driver won't matter too much, you can still complete it, and he will gain skill and become a good driver later. Bad hacker will give you exactly the right amount of time to loot everything, and he'll gain skill as well.

I think the smart approach was better because when it comes to operating a heist like that one it takes bigger brains to pull it off. The Loud approach was just okay even though I played that more times. Always choose the high advantage members because like Lester said the smarter they are the bigger the cut.
Recommended crews to get maximum amount of money in both approaches: Option A - Loud Approach Driver: Eddie Toh (14%) Gunman: Patrick McReary (12%) Hacker: Rickie Lukens (4%) TOTAL CREW CUTS: 30% Option B - Smart Approach Driver: Karim Denz (8%) Gunman: Patrick McReary (12%) Hacker: Rickie Lukens (4%) TOTAL CREW CUTS: 24% As you can see, Loud is less profitable than Smart because in Loud, you need to hire one expensive driver and one expensive gunman while in Smart, you only need to hire one expensive gunman.

I can't get quick grab to save my life. In this video you seem to lose track of where you are at a few times. I have ran through perfectly and still get 50 or 51 seconds every time. Guess it's another one based on luck

JohnsonRomeo 2 No, since Norm drops the jewels, you lose a ton of money. You can see he gets 4.5 mil even though he got all the loot. If you choose a good gunman, he won't drop any jewels and you will get 4.9 mil.

Rickie alone helps you get 100% during the first play through of the mission because he give you like a minute which is what you need for gold

I think the smart approach was better because when it comes to operating a heist like that one it takes bigger brains to pull it off. The Loud approach was just okay even though I played that more times. Always choose the high advantage members because like Lester said the smarter they are the bigger the cut.
Recommended crews to get maximum amount of money in both approaches:
Option A - Loud Approach
Driver: Eddie Toh (14%)
Gunman: Patrick McReary (12%)
Hacker: Rickie Lukens (4%)
TOTAL CREW CUTS: 30%
Option B - Smart Approach
Driver: Karim Denz (8%)
Gunman: Patrick McReary (12%)
Hacker: Rickie Lukens (4%)
TOTAL CREW CUTS: 24%
As you can see, Loud is less profitable than Smart because in Loud, you need to hire one expensive driver and one expensive gunman while in Smart, you only need to hire one expensive gunman.

I can't get quick grab to save my life. In this video you seem to lose track of where you are at a few times. I have ran through perfectly and still get 50 or 51 seconds every time. Guess it's another one based on luck

James Duffy The cheap gunman he chose was actually very smart. He recovered the money that he dropped, and he doesn't have to split it with him since he's gone. That was a very smart decision.
You missed one detail lol, you still have to pay for his death aka casually expenses. So technically its better to get a good gunman to prevent that.
JohnsonRomeo 2 No, since Norm drops the jewels, you lose a ton of money. You can see he gets 4.5 mil even though he got all the loot. If you choose a good gunman, he won't drop any jewels and you will get 4.9 mil.
