As an Economist, I can say it is highly likely that Pakistan would default. The total loans on the govt are $130B. Pakistan would have to default in the coming 1-2 years and go into debt restructuring. That will lead to very high inflation. It can also lead to civil war. In parallel, the people of the country would have to increase production in agriculture, manufacturing. It would have to significantly cut down imports. It would have to increase taxes on the rich and also go after the most corrupt people there. Put them in jail and get their money into govt accounts. The next ten years for Pakistan people would be very difficult. But things can get better if there are new honest politicians or citizens lead the country. Else it will continue to go down.
@@FuntaaReactions I think you should hope it happens. Look at Srilanka. Once they defaulted, the people were on the streets and they were able to throw out the corrupt politicians. Now, they are on the right track. Maybe default is required in Pakistan to throw out corruption. Or another option is maybe an honest army general who can impose dictatorship and go after the most corrupt. Unless corruption is targeted in Pak, things will not improve.

This is the problem with Pakistan if they live in nice home and have money to buy things and able to take care of their home then they say that there is no issue in Pakistan and everything is fine. You guys need to understand that if your tummy is full doesn’t mean that whole country especially majority of your population (poor or middle class people) is doing well. To run and whole country long term future plans, infrastructure, development plans and many more things need to be there. Tourism, safety, cultural and heritage exhibitions also add value in one’s economy. Most of your people think there is no value of dollar and poor people don’t have any connection to it.
