  • Tega & Tula is one of Ethiopia’s oldest estates. Under the direction of Ahadu Woubshet since 2015, the farm has been revitalized for specialty coffee production. Ahadu’s vision is to be an exceptional Ethiopian farm, and four principles guide the team: build infrastructure that is in harmony with the environment, use professional oversight to achieve operational excellence, be equitable toward all in their production chain, and take care of the community that takes care of them. Tega & Tula is an anchor relationship for Cafe Imports, and we're honored to share their voice and coffees with you.

    Hello,
I just found your channel and will be binging on it tonight.
I have been roasting coffee since maybe 2017 with a popcorn popper and a year later i began using a metal cube style roaster with a capacity of approximately 200 grams over a gas camping stove.
This past year i have taken a DEEP DIVE into the science of roasting and extraction theory. Coffee is very important to me in several ways. The hobby interests me and allows my mind to focus as well as gives me a positive way to spend my time.
I find the caffeine helps my ADHD and roasting allows me to start something and follow through to clean up.
I was hospitalised for 996 days and when i came home coffee was key to motivate me to get strong and be able to stand and roast.
I moved to Japan with my wife and am learning the language. Not having the ability to carry a conversation i find that coffee is a great medium for communicating with others.
Currently i have a Moka Pot, a Clever Dripper, "Its American Press, cone style filter dripper and a Coffee Gator espresso appliance.
My last green coffee bean order consisted of 5kg bean in 1kg packages of speciality coffee. This is only my 2nd time ordering speciality coffee and let me tell you... these beans are testing my skills as a home roaster.
My last roast i had to finish off 2 different beans. One was a natural Brazilian and the other was a honey processed Costa Rican. It could have come out a bit better. I just got a new camping stove and the precision burner pushes a wide footprint of heat with no cold or hot spots. I am still a bit timid and dropped the heat way to soon during first crack and did not let the beans develop as much as i should have.
Thank you for reading this long message. I wanted to give you an idea of who i am and let you know the impact coffee has on my life.
I hope to have open lines of communication with you in the future. If i may ever be of service, please let me know. It is going to take work to undo the brainwashed minds that burnt coffee with massive amounts of flavoring and suger is the only way coffee is good or it is ok to give into convenience and drink the harsh and bitter instant coffee. Together we can educate pod people so they do not have to spend 4 times the ammount they could pay for good coffee.
Should there come a time where you are looking for content ideas and you ask your viewers, i would be honored to assist and not expect anything in return.
I have a few ideas and goals i would like to achieve but i have written so much already and i can share them with you another day.
My name is David but on YT, i go by KG. May you have a wonderful weekend. Thank you again for reading this novel of a comment.
