Mountain Biking In Munising | Munising Bay Trails

- We stopped to go mountain biking in Munishing on our way home from UP trip, and rode at the Munising Bay Trails! This place is really cool and has a lot of amazing features, but the trails are limited. With the awesome skills park/trail up at the top, there are two jump lines coming down the hill.
We rode Superior Air the most, which is a Black Diamond Jump Trail, but I would consider this to be more of a Blue Trail. Rock On! had a lot of potential to be an awesome trail, but the rocky surface made holding speed very difficult.
This trail has a lot of offer for all skill levels, but I wouldn't necessarily make this trail system a destination. Its absolutely worth stopping in for a ride while youre passing through, but there just isn't enough to ride for several days.

I’m staying in Wetmore right now about 20 minutes away from these trails and go ride them pretty often. While there not as good as the trails in Marquette they are some nice trails and their free so even bettee

You’d love to have features like that at your home trail? If more people volunteered at their local trail all trails down here could be like that. I built a MTB trail with 2 other teachers where I teach. Over 200 hours put into building 2.5 miles of trail with several wooden features and rock gardens. Get involved in trail day work.

Not sure if you know it or not but this summer they were adding to rock on to make it a lot longer with more jimps

Original trail was untouched it looked like they were adding on a gap jump line with the option to turn off where the original trail ended to go up to the top.
Might have to hit this up on the way to Marquette.

The jumps were to peaky for me. Would’ve love more flow jumps that allow you to carry speed
Have you ridden the 13mile singletrack loop at Valley Spur? The trailhead is just a few miles from Munising. Great fun for sure.
The system is maintained by Munising Bay Trail Network (MBTN), the same group that created & maintains the system in this vid.
I haven’t, but have heard great things! I will have to check it out next time we are up that way!
