Coming from being a child and NOT a parent, I think parents should keep chasing their dreams and goals. Parents are people too. The parents that don’t take care of themselves to give the best to their kids are sending a mixed message to the child.

As a stay at home mother, I knowingly gave up my career to care for my children and home. Our children are the most important part of our lives and who better to raise and care for them than their own mommy? My time will come where I can pursue other things. But in the mean time I still do things I enjoy. Waking up at 5am to exercise and have alone time has been amazing. Baking, bike riding, fishing, etc can be enjoyed as a family! And when daddy comes home from work he has dinner on the table and kids running to greet him.

  • @zariaeda007

A lot of people give up their careers or dreams because of finances. For some people daycare costs too much, so one parent ends up quitting and staying home. It's the parents who are financially well off that tend to be able to continue their current lifestyle.

I was eight years old when my dad died because of a car accident i still remember till this day how i laughed when they brought my sister and i up to his coffin to see him. I was the closest to him but i laughed instead of cried when i saw him lying there. After the funeral was over and i had to go back to school the next week and my mother was called in to the school to come fetch me, my temperature was high, my eyes were red and i just would not stop crying. My mom took me to a doctor who said my illness was not physical and asked if anything bad had happen recently, she told him about losing her father and my dad (her husband ) just within a few months of each other. He told her that is probably what was making me sick, i was heart broken. It took me a month to go back to school, most days my mom had to force me out of bed or bring some friends to me while i lay in bed to cheer me up, but for a while i just kept crying.

I laughed at a funeral when I was 15. Everyone thought I was crying and I felt even worse for laughing, but it was the only time that’s happened in the 10 funerals I’ve been to.. Every time I tell someone about that and that it was a nervous laughter they just think I’m crazy or morbid. It’s nice to know others have been through that as well!
