Lyrics:
There is an old barn on a ghost farm
Hollowed out and filled with stars
The sky fell through the busted roof
A hole so wide, the moon came too
There’s a strange glow in these kind of ruins
A broken dream we’re clinging to
Cornfields, roadkill, bird song, hoping still
Still thinking about that oak tree
There on the edge of that property
On land stolen, bought, and tilled
Two hundred years and that tree is still
Holding up the canopy of a forest cut for currency
Can’t imagine, still I try
Intelligence outside my mind
Patience, dignity, old-growth, green leaves
Deep roots, metal teeth cutting through the years of those tree rings
Tornado siren, tumbleweed, Christmas lights on main street
Cornfields, roadkill, bird song, hoping still
Driving wild to get there quick
Outrunning the hurt you know will stick
Rich with excuses but I’m not convinced
Just cause you’re speeding ahead
Doesn’t mean that it’s fixed
Cornfields, roadkill, bird song, hoping still
you are a brilliant performer. + love that guitar.
So good
👏👏👏❤❤❤ sizzlin'!
Lovely
Both your guitar and voice sound so great. Love the dynamics.
Really great song. Some friends of mine saw you in Portland the other day. They loved it! Keep going.
AHHH THIS IS SO GOOD!!! 💓
Ehhhh.
Doesn't sound too bad at all, but could use a little less far Left propaganda please for those of us that have a mind of our own
Maga moron😊

agree. Singer-songwriter stuff tends to be angsty, perhaps meaningful to the artist, but not a song most people are going to want to put on repeat.
I note the artist Michael Franti, his early work w/Spearhead is highly political. He and and his band went to Iraq after the US invasion of Iraq. He thought his music would be well received there but it wasn't. People there lived hard lives and relied on music to take them to a better place, not a political rally. He came back and lightened up his music, more pop, less politics, and achieved commercial success, got paid. When I hear his songs on the radio, it's not the political ones being played.
