Had many drones over the years , but gave it away over the last 18 months. Till now, I just bought the mini 4 and wow, the technology now is amazing. Absolutely love it. Think it's funny how many mini 3s are now on sale second hand on Facebook marketplace 😂

I was able to get my Mini 2 sold, and then upgraded to the 4 Pro. I'm glad someone paid me fairly for it.
MY SHUTTER ONLY GO TO 2 SEC HOW I CAN GO TO 8 SEC . I AM NEW ON DRONE BUT I KNOW HOW TO WORK ON PHOTO SETTING ON A REGULAR CAMERA. , HOW TO MAKE IT TO 8 SEC SHUTTER. THANX
It needs to be enabled for D-Log M and has an option to adjust sharpening and noise reduction. Especially sharpening negatively impacts low light.
Noooooooo I use a triple sharpness program for night runs….. even at triple sharp a quad sharp would be even better! Lol
I just tested my mini4pro. The noise reduction is too aggressive. It produces a bit of that watercolor painting effect. I compare it to my Air2S and the Air 2S is way sharper but having a little more noise. And the 5.4k at night is way superior.
Hey man, so I have the mini 4 Pro, but I definitely don’t have the option of more than 2 seconds shutter speed. However, I’ve just noticed that you can go past this but only in 12 mp, not 48mp. If you know of a setting somewhere which changes the 48mp setting, would be great to know. Cheers very much
Auto mode is always good enough for me... lol I haven't flown the 4 pro at night yet but wow, those videos looked pretty cool..

Thank you Darren. Yet another of your SUPER-HELPFUL videos for a novice like me! Question for you: I planned and flew a Waypoint flight during daylight that I want to shoot at night using my DJI 4 Mini in the night video mode. My daylight flight was shot in the normal daylight video mode. Is there any way to change that to the night video mode in my saved Waypoint route so that it shoots the route in night video mode??
i was messing around at dusk with mine today and it was pretty nice. no noise.
it looks very good on my cellphone, but it really looks pretty bad on a 4k screen :(
I have only used my 3 about 10 times because we had to come back home early from holiday last year and this is a work year. But in February of next year we are off on holiday till Christmas.

While you were filming from your drone, I was given permission to film on the beach directly under the display. At the time I did not own a drone. However I now have a Mini 4.
As I’ve only had my drone a few days may I ask if you’ve filmed any night scenes in mLOG and how it compares with Night Mode?
I did see a UA-cam of somebody filming Tower-bridge, but with Night Mode the high ISO and in-camera noise reduction the entire scene looked like waxy plastic.
I edit in Resolve which has excellent noise reduction capabilities and I’m hoping that I can overcome some of these problems. I know a tiny sensor can’t work miracles and I’d rather tolerate some noise over a plastic looking images from the very few things I’ve seen on UA-cam.

Friend, I make videos on the Mini 4 Pro at night, in night mode, and the video is a little gray! I record in 4K at 30 fps. If so, do I need to lower the exposure to minus -3?
You shld try comparing dlog m to night mode. D log m gives much better footage and mor3 flexibilty in post.
I think the highlights gained where as there was a l loss of detail the shadow, which is what I would expect from extended iso. It depends on the application whether I would use it. Bright fireworks for example yes. Thank for the vid
In night shots I never use above 1600 ISO. It's the sweet spot. 12800 ISO? Sure, nice to have that option. But in real life "night mode" really degrades video quality.

I shot in 4K 30 fps hlg. My daytime footage is fine. And I switched to night mode as it got dark. When I enlarge my video, it looks a bit blurry to me. Why is that?
Do you use a strobe light for safety 🤔? And if so which strobe light is the best for the dji 4 mini pro ?
just make this feature turn on automatically when is in low light, don't see the point of having to manually select it
the aux light makes it much better to fly at night.
I would love to make a video like that in my area, but it's just an impossible feat. I live in rural America where there is little to no ambient light (99% pitch black). Have tried it a couple times, but ended up crashing one of the drones as I could not see anything (flying blind). The only drone I have that can fly at night is the Autel Robotics EVO II Pro Enterprise V3 (has 12 bit video). One of the accessories that come with it is a very bright led headlamp that lights up the ground below and in front of it when it flies forward. The only time I did this was when I was flying further away during dusk and had to get it back home in the dark.

Hello great video thank you. I have the mini 4 pro and based on your video I went to try and get a long exposure pic of traffic, but my shutter only goes up to 2” and not 8 like your video shows. Do you know if this was an update or why I might not have the option to go higher than 2” ? Thanks very much for any help you can lend!!
For you experts, is it difficult to get a long exposure (style) photo from video footage? I want to record a fireworks show, but I know some of the long exposures of fireworks look awesome. I don't want to switch from video to photo though and miss part of the show. I can pull stills from the video footage and stack them for a similar look?

Hey guys! After watching this video I went for some night droning and unfortunately the lowest shutter speed I could find was only 2 seconds. Anyone know if I need to activate the slower shutter speeds or what? 4:43 is what i am referring too. Thank you!

Hi! What do you use to compress your videos for Instagram and UA-cam?
How does the night mode video compare to shooting in 10-bit and then doing noise reduction in DaVinci Resolve? Does it look better overall due to the higher dynamic range? Other than access to the higher ISO setting, is there any benefit to night mode vs. shooting in 10-bit and doing NR later?
You'll get pretty much the same results probably slightly better on resolve, this is just a time saver built in
Does do the obstacle avoidance sensors not work at night? New to the MP4 drone and my display shows that the vision sensors are unavailable.
I think this is an ambient lightning issue.

I tried both of them and they are both the same?
sadly this night mode is not that good ... no D-LogM and the shadows are too crushed (too dark) / no details in the shadows ...I think Mini 3 Pro with D-Cinelike and higher ISO with a lil bit of Neat Video NR is way better at night!
No progress in night clarity and colors as well, Evo nano and lite plus are much better in both

Unfortunately not that good, it’s only really bright on the ground when the drone is low.

I watched it a couple of nights ago and decided to get the M4P and it has arrived.....however I am only getting 2" exposure time on this - any idea how I can extend this. I am in 'Pro' click the settings and the shutter button and it only goes down to 2" as per my M3P.....would be so grateful for any suggestions!

no filter, you could close by nailing pro settings yourself but you would have to add your own noise reduction too

I might have missed this Darren, so apologies if it has been mentioned. When I've gone to adjust the camera settings to look for the 8 second exposure it's only showing up to two seconds in Pro Mode. Is there a specific setting that I'm missing to enable the drone to do this?

Yes you are right. I have to sell my 3 and get a 4.
Maybe its better keeping the 3 (dont do updates to keep the 500m height). So in case the 4 will be limited again to 120m abv starting point on 1st Jan 24 you still have the 500m option.
