I’m totally agree with you. What I hate most is the fact that I have to fight against the same five characters because the meta of this mode, that is switch and win for having more characters. I play with only three characters and I’m always in disavantage but I prefer to play like a want.
Like I said, the skill [after image strike] if I was to use it against my opponent the skills ability should instantly stop the moment i start to attack him.... it should only be used as a defense skill.... cause right now it's both defense (cause you dodge everything) and offense (cause you can attack while it's still active), which is bull crap

Hear me out, make afterimage strike cost 2 skill, but make it the following: Only last 12 seconds, it's decent but 15 is way too dame long. Also with the points below it'll make sense You generate 0 skill and Ki (minus charging) for the full 12 seconds, I'd apply this to the duration of sparking, 10 seconds after landing an ultimate and people sitting on afterimage or wild sense as well. I'll call it Skill Strain, also during Skill Strain, you cannot enter sparking or use after image strike, after image or wild sense Perception strikes can't be afterimage, if you got read then you deserve the L. Take that shit off Vegito, give him wild sense instead. I believe this strong skill should only be on 4DP or lower characters to aid against getting cooked by melee combos of high ballers Taking any damage ends the skill, even blocked supers or ki blasts end the duration. This way, unless your opponent is really reckless you'll rarely get the full duration. Hence the reduction of cost to 2. But It'll reward awareness, vital timed deflections of ki blasts and careful positioning could net you a couple more seconds of breathing room to find an opening with the cushion Strike provides. And with Skill Strain, you cannot spam it without cooking your skill bar or Ki, giving your opponent the resource advantage. I'd Also make Perception cost a small bit of your skill bar, like half a bar on activation and drain fast if you hold it. If you do the dodge with it or revenge grab, refund half the cost
I agree with everything you said. I’m going to mention that perception needs to actually cost something upon activation to reduce spamming it. I would say I may be confused about the after image ending after being hit as we already have that in the game with normal afterimage. I think your other ideas about after image are pretty solid though!
Unblockables are chill it adds another level of skill for those who are really good at vanishing supers. Afterimage strike playing the game for someone tho? And you can’t even like stagger the skill to still hit them while it’s active that’s absolutely ass
Honestly, looking into it, they should have done a Raging Blast 3 instead of Sparking Zero since everything people complain about in Sparking Zero is already implemented in a 15-year-old game. Raging Blast was a good successor to the Bodukai series and a good step toward a modern Dragon Ball game.
