Doc walks you through a lot of problems that come with the summer heat on lawns. Often people say add potassium but that can create other issues if you're not careful.
Thanks for all your lawn wisdom and sharing the progress on your little farmstead
Doc, please be sure to let us know if the neighboring Cannabalistic herd shows up for the cookout. LMAO! Did you ever think that in retirement, you would be working this hard? Don't worry, it helps to keep you young!😁😉 Thanks for every second of every video you've done and are doing.
Appreciate the insight. I feel like I'm living in a rainforest lately. Someone will be lucky to own the new mower! I just started running a gifted 25 yr old reel mower, still figuring out the kinks.
at least i know it aint just me having the lawn being so fried, sorry to see the sunjoe go like that , and thank you so much doc with all these tips
I’m so glad I found your channel you are so funny and informative and interesting always looking for to your next video they complete my day😊central fl .
Thanks for all your guidance on lawn care. Enjoy the videos.
My body is literally almost worn out working out in this heat day after day after day. Been trying my best to beat the cramps before they happen. These last few days the cramps won. So, glad to see that weather change on my way home from work today. Rain has come, feels like temperature has dropped 20 degrees.
The older I get the more I have to drink Gatorade to replenish my electrolytes. The heat just sucks the water out of my body and the Gatorade just helps tremendously. Please try drinking some Gatorade and then you shouldn't have leg cramps.
@@cynthiarafferty7662 yea, i didn't have enough gatorade this past week to deal with all I did.
Awesome video. 35 gal brute trash cans for feeders and water, will have to drill/cut holes for fittings and pvc 90s but worth it. I keep them elevated on pavers or concrete blocks work also. As far as the snakes go. I have my coop/run in 1/4 hardware cloth. Outer perimeter is dug down 1’ and out 2’ for digging type predators. Snakes we’ve had cohabited with the chickens surprisingly, snakes were only interested in the eggs. They come in very small and grow very vast if you don’t catch/notice them. Only had it happen once because we let them out and door left open. I pulled 2 5’ snakes out when noticed egg count was lower than normal. After snake carcasses rotted away was a trail of eggs
Would you recommend using the sun joe now on Bermuda?
How dry is in the Charleston SC area, the fairways are running 10 on the stemp meter. We here the thunder and no rain. But we're hoping
Thanks for the video Doc.
Our weather forecast looked like that last week and it looks like that this week. We got a whopping .3 last week. I believe the rain when I see it
The drought is over Bro. Doc.
The cows with the hamburger joke ......" Moooove along Doc. Moooove along. NOT funny!"
pre germinate seeds can get grass blades in a day or 2, wait for roots to shoot, plant, try it Doc!!!!! I have almost a full lawn of Monaco seeding during this drought
I think this is part of the reason why people like living up north, just came back to Alabama from the Catskills ny, and the ground up there was sopping wet
Doc, whatever happened to the Zoysia that you used to have in your yard? Looks like a storm is starting to roll in and like you agree that this has been one of the worst June & July in years in this area.
I killed most of the sedges back in June with Ortho nutsedge killer, before it got too hot, but after it got hot, Dove weed took over the whole lawn, then with all the rain I can't mow without clogging up the mower. 11.36 inches of rain since July 1st, that's 5 inches above average, and there's still 10 days left in this month.
"Hey, this idiot put out another video." Lol!!! Love it!
Doc, do you recommend the DGL now on Fescue? Temps and rain have been better in my area but trying to get the lawn to recover after heat stress and drought in June.
What happened to the other website you’re gonna do like for survival or something? Did you get those up and running so I can be on those two?
Did you say you put a bluegrass in that yard? I haven't known rye to thatch that bad but bluegrass definitely goes insane with thatch sometimes.
Just bought a house and zoysia yard has clumps of dallisgrass... is spot treating with round up and dealing with the yellow zoysia my only recourse? I'm in Memphis
I don”t have fungus or grubs.
But I do have a mole problem
What is the best way to get rid of moles?
Curious about your sunjoe, are you using 10 gauge heavy extension cord? if not, would that be why motor overheated?
Doc, any advice you can give for lawns with a well? Don't like the idea of drinking lawn treatments
Shallow bored or deep well. Deep well no issues.
You are crazy Doc!!! Grilling Hamburgers 🍔
Hey Doc, I have a mostly bermuda sod lawn in the front, but as the trees have grown around the house, I'm getting a lot of thinning and bald areas. I have supplemented with some zoysia in those areas. My big question is could I overseed the entire front with perennial rye? That would keep roots in the ground and green year round. Thoughts?
Doc, what’s the best way to treat a lawn full of spurge in this Charlotte heat? Now we got rain and it’s spread everywhere.
No PGF Complete? I just ordered more
I don't see any lawn guides for st augustine grass. Do I just use the Bermuda guide?
Thanks
Doc I just bought the Sun Joe 15 inch 13 amp. I live in Fresno and have Bermuda. What setting should I use on this sunjoe? 0,10,?
Thanks Doc!!
I'd love to see what your previous house lawn is looking like these days. lol
What are you selling now? It used to be PGF complete, or PGF balance. Now I see that the Anderson's are selling a straight nitrogen just like in all the big box stores.
Watch the DGL video and when to use it in combo with a base fert.
Doc, I'm surprised you don't have that classen power rake.
My sunjoe reel also got fried like that. Gas reel I just bought
Hi Doc, are you no longer using hydretain? I learned about this product from you a few years ago and I swear by it here in south Texas. In fact I just put it down 4 days ago.
I've never used it.
Poor sunjoe, gotta move on to a commercial Ryan unit!
great video
Doc, can dirt booster change the tint in grass, Seems to have given deeper blueish green dark color in Monaco, im stunned but also using 2 bags PGF a month, there is a differece tho, where dirt booster is and isnt. Only color, no better growth like you sd, looks like iron was sprayed lol
I imagine it could... but kind of doubt it. There is not any iron in DB
I cut 7 pine trees and grind stumps and haul away the Chips and Haul a load of top soil will Fescue grass grow in September Late
Using a grass catcher when you mow would reduce your thatch considerably.
It's not the cut grass that creates the MATTING. It's the tight dead rye.
The grass clippings do decompose over time but it takes about 3 weeks for that first layer to decompose. So meanwhile you’ve mowed 6 or 7 times and you’re just piling up more and more layers of grass that haven’t had time to decompose. So you end up with a lot of matting. I used to be a big believer in mulching, in fact my first mower was a mulching mower, didn’t even have a bag attachment. After a few years I switched to bagging and it made a huge difference in my matting problem.
All hail the SunJoe!
👍🏾
For some reason can’t sigh up on the link
I have too many bugs. I took take of them yesterday. 😢
Oh nooooooo 😮😮😮😮😮 at least the sun joe lasted a while
Yap
John 🐓🐔🐥🐤🐣🤣
Chickens are growing fast
nice
Heat? No heat here, we're having near record low temps
I got one use out of my sunjoe.
Get a Ryan or Bluebird.
your cord maybe too long that's why the machine died
