I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. Today (January 9), this was the basis for our Sunday School Lesson of the Day. It was entitled "Hagar and Ishmael Not Forgotten."
Wow this is amazing...we are not Gods nation.. The further we move away from Gods word the further we move away from its temporary blessing. Wow...so prophetic and true.
The story of Hagar is like one big example for why Abortion should be legal. Hagar has a pregnancy forced upon her by her slave masters. Then she's abused by said slave masters, Then God says she has to stay pregnant but her son would have a destiny filled with violence and be considered a heathen. Then she's kicked out of the house like a worthless dog with the child she was forced to have. Even in the New Testament, the scriptures attack Hagar and Ishmael. Poor guy. He never had a chance. This is why women have abortions, cause they feel like there's no chance for their kids, Especially when they are "illegitimate"
There is no justifiable reason to murder a child in the womb. Upon conception, every human being enters into a world corrupted by sin, regardless of the life circumstances of the parents at the time of conception and birth. Every human being is born into the world through sinful and corrupted parents. Babies are not saved from suffering through murder, nor are parents saved from suffering through murdering their babies. God's solution for mankind's helpless and death-filled situation was to send His Son Jesus into the world to live a sinless life and die a sinner's death in the place of sinful man. God the Father then raised His Son Jesus from the dead, and has promised that all who place their faith in Jesus, calling Him Lord and believing God raised Him from the dead, will be saved from the penalty of their sins and will be raised from the dead as Christ was. Humanity does not solve the problems of sin, suffering, and death by murdering babies. Murdering babies exponentially multiplies sin, suffering, death, and the misery of mankind. The only way to solve the problems of sin, suffering, and death is to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.
Thank you for preaching The Word 📖
