Singing in the Philippines is a common past time esp while drinking alcohol in the bar, corner store, birthday parties, and the like. There is a lot of underrated singers in the Philippines.

I can't stop laughing because it is true that we love singing, and everyone does karaoke almost every day to the point that it gets annoying cause you want to sleep at night and someone is still singing their hearts out somewhere in the neighborhood hahaha. Oftentimes, there'll be people singing karaoke in every household hahahahaha

In my group, at least. Yes, they do get jeers, but it's all in good fun for them to do better. And if it reaches a point that they can't be a soloist, we encourage them to learn how to harmonize. They won't be able to go solo, but they can still be part of making something pleasant to everyone's ears.*

I dunno if someone mentioned this already but the Philippines is very religious and many of us go to our churches at young age and we sing in chorus during masses or services so I think that's also a factor why we are so into music ....

Aj Rafael is actually a singer and I absolutely love his songs! Sometimes, I play my playlist on our speakers when I'm in the mood (also because my mom tells me not to keep the music to myself lol) so my family is really familiar with my music, especially those on my replay mix.

we filipinos are not aware of Pro level singing. yes because singing good is just normal. i personally dont realize that people in other parts of the world actually pay to hear good singers until you said it in your videos.

And then there’s Angelica Hale (America’s Got Talent) from Atlanta in the East… many more I can’t recall. You’re also likely to find Filipino (or those with Filipino ancestry) winners of singing contests held in Australia, Israel (?) and other countries.
