- A group of 28 people were trapped on a ride at Oaks Amusement Park in Southeast Portland, Oregon, on the park’s first day open for the season, according to Portland Fire and Rescue. Evie Yannotta, 14, was among those who were trapped on the ride. She said the malfunction left her with PTSD and she won't be returning to an amusement park anytime soon.

Oaks has closed the ride until further notice and is consulting with the manufacturer about why this happened. The ride is brand new. The park was closed to allow emergency crews in to get people down.

Geez Louise they were upside down for 30 minutes about 100 feet off the ground? Imagine what it would have been like if this incident had occurred at night!
I was on a ride similar to this at a traveling carnival the other day. Except it didn’t go a full 360. It was called the frenzy and I was screaming and swearing a lot while it was going but after I got off I thought it was hella fun, and did a 2nd round a couple hours later. After seeing this story, idk if I wanna do that ride next year
That is so crazy… I would never go on a ride like that. Knowing what happened there, I won’t even go on a ride over 30mph now💀.
People that wait in line for hours to go into a situation they have no control over then complain. Whatever. You did it to yourself 😂

I don’t trust these kinds of places with my safety. Marginal employees and a minimum of maintenance.
in all or at least some types of truck driving, drivers are supposed to do a pre-trip inspection of the truck before starting on the road. maybe the ride should be inspected before every run or like every 5-10 ride runs. or maybe every 10-30 or 60 minutes or something? but that would or might "slow down production" though.
