I took singing lessons and my teacher told me that some people have natural talent and don't need training for opera or any singing. Not saying I am one of those. No I am not. But skin is one of those and it enables her to sing whatever genre she wants with ease. Actually all humans are able to sing. But we lose our ability due to being forced to adapt to our cultural languages. Due to being told to speak quite. All childrens have the ability to sing and to belt for example. Look what amazing pitches and volumes children are capable of releasing with their tiny bodies and vocal instruments. Go visit a childrens playground. Lots of belting there!!! We all had it within us, but culture forces us to give up on that most of the time. It is us grown ups who tell children to speak more quitely and this is how our children lose their ability to sing properly and loud and with emotional expression. This emotional expression is natural to all of us. It is part of our nature, but not of most cultures anymore. But some people keep the muscle memory how to sing and belt and that enables them to be greate singers even once they grew up. So if you think you aren't talented to sing, it is because the grown ups around you forced you to forget how to use your voice with all its power. But ski kept her ability.
