    This is intended as constructive criticism not trying to bash the guy, however I watched the first 2 minutes and I saw some things that I think could be improved upon.
    1. the location of the fuse, I would shorten the wire between the battery terminal and the fuze. the fuze is there to protect the wire, if the wire shorts it will heat up, and since the wire is run across the top of the battery, the wire will melt the casing of the battery causing further problems.
    2 the location of the fuze on top of the negative terminal, not good, and since the wire is not protected, eventually the heat and vibration from the engine will degrade the insulation and short out.....etc.
    3. I would recommend using non-metalic to fish wires through the firewall of the car. it is just good practice, a big ziptie can make a good one.
    Like I said I am not trying to criticize, but I think he would be better off with these changes.

      Everything you said is correct. The power wire going to the fuse should be shorter. If let say the wire comes loose from the fuse holder, the wire can reach a ground part of the car or the batteried negative terminal and burn the wire and or çause a fire...so hopefully he trimmed the power wire to the fuse and he remounted that fuse block better.

    Hey nice job ! It's funny how people that are learning to speak English get the " fuck " word quickly without having to write it down. LoL.

    Those are 2 x 6.5 in speakers, not 10's as stated. Otherwise, the video is great! Thanks for the valuable information!

    Does the subwoofer amplifier use such a large amount of current that you need to connect directly to the battery??!!

    I know this is very old now, but i couldn't tell where you started in the engine bay, you just said "the rubber element" , was it some part of the clutch pedal? What rubber element? I am trying to do the same job right now. Many thanks.

    So power wire from the battery of course, ground, for the remote wire you tap in to the remote for the factory amp under the passenger seat to turn on your amp, then run speaker wire from YOUR AMP to the factory sub wires as shown THEN from there to YOUR subs?

    Hello, I have a CRV 2018 And we installed an amplifier and a 12-inch woofer, the problem is that when we pass the 2000 revolutions of speed a noise comes out with the stereo in low volume, we have to raise it to be removed, but it is very annoying, the amplifier is also small, it is JVC of 600Wts.

      sounds like a bad ground issue

    • @jbmjbm323
      @jbmjbm323 6 місяців тому

      The problem ís that HONDA'S without a built in subwoofer have an ANC (Active Noise Control) Unit and you would need to unplug it under / on the side of glove compartment. That noise you are hearing is like a humming noise that this ANC is sending to the speakers to try to cancel out road noise. To not hear that noise again, you should disable the ANC Unit by disconnecting the wire harness to the Unit. I also have an 2018 and I am planning to install an amp and sub but before I do my installation, I unplugged that wire harness to the ANC Unit.

  • @dmeskill2

    Do you know if the wires coming from the subwoofer are pre-amp line levels or are they speaker levels? The reason I ask is that the factory subwoofer has other wires going into it that might be powering it. This is the only information missing from this video. It will effect how I wire it up to my aftermarket sub. Otherwise, very helpful thanks!

    • @dmeskill2
      @dmeskill2 3 роки тому +3

      Figured it out. Looked at CRV wiring diagram and it depends on your model. Green wires = speaker level wires. Purple wires = preamp wires.

    • @mattgaydos9685

      Indeed, it comes with the sub and goes directly from it. No connecting to car peripherie has to be done.

    Future reference, your metal coat hanger should not get close to the red positive battery terminal and the metal chassis of the car. You could have electricuted yourself. So be careful when holding metal near the battery terminals.
