What handheld did you get? I've been playing with an old homebrew psp for emulation for a long while. Wife got me a HH for my birthday this year. I decided on retroid 3plus. Absolutely love it. Although I'm definitely getting the grip long game sessions with my big hands give my hands some fatigue lol
Here is a easier way if you don't have a keyboard or adapter and want to get to the bios in Windows 11 when you log in SETTINGS > SCROLL DOWN TO RECOVERY > ADVANCED START UP > TROUBLESHOOT > UFI SETTING and that will reboot to the bios no keyboard necessary and you can use the keypad and X button to make changes after that just save reboot and you can enter JELOS or any other OS you have (maybe pin this so others will know)
There is actually a 5th option for how to store ROMs on the sd card - partition the card so that you have 40-60 gb for the os and the rest can be formatted as a fat32 (up to PS2 ROMs) or exfat.
If this ever goes on sale for about $200 I think it could actually be killer as an affordable emulation and indie game machine. EAt $250, though, it still feels like a bit too much money for an underpowered device.
Russ, you think that putting Chimera OS in the internal storage of the Loki Zero could solve the issue of Windows overwriting the BIOS settings? Chimera OS seems also a nice plug and play OS. Thanks for the awesome video. I expected it for weeks. You're awesome.
I’v noticed that as much as I love Russ’s channel he really doesn’t interact with the comment section unless it’s a developer or another UA-camr commenting.
It's really nice that JELOS makes emulation a lot better but having to boot into the BIOS each time you want to switch sounds like a pain. This is still one of the best advantages of the Steam Deck, you can have everything you need on the same interface and it's practically a plug and play experience. Other handhelds always seem to make you go through extra hoops in their software.
I read from a JELOS developer that it might be more wise to put ChimeraOS (which is similar to SteamOS) in the internal storage instead of Windows. This might solve the Windows overwriting BIOS startup priorities, but I'm not sure.

I thought that for performance it was pretty decent, just an all round decent device with a few shortcomings but it’s all put into perspective when you remember the cost. Price for return for this device with JELOS is amazing especially when you consider the cost of similar devices and what you get in return.

JELOS has TDP controls by system or by game. They are shown briefly in the video. So depending on which systems you are emulating, you can set the TDP to the lowest setting that plays that particular system smoothly. How about a JELOS video on Loki Max? I am curious to know the emulation performance of the Max in JELOS, and wonder if it's worth buying for emulation only. However, it's a huge hassle that you have to connect a keyboard and enter the BIOS to change the boot device whenever you want to boot into JELOS.
I found that even the Steam Deck struggles with some more resource-heavy titles. I highly recommend adding games like Shadow of the Colossus or Champions of Norrath to the list of test games.

It's silly to me a low end ARM processor can run Saturn games, but this can't. I think Saturn Emulation is still lagging behind other emulators, and we have performant Saturn emulators, they just haven't been ported to everything.
can you play
elden ring?
and dark souls in this?
It’s crazy how the RP 3 plus just plows through all this at like 3x resolution and even some ps2 and gamecube for only $150. Just goes to show what optimizations does for you.
Yea jealous my fave os
YandereOS Sinatra
Noob question. Can you still install/play PC games (as well as game client games Steam, Epic, etc) even with the JELOS as my main boot? Thank you so much!
I was getting black screens on PS2 (after confirming BIOS files in the correct spot), turns out once you launch a game you also need to touch the display, this engages the 'mouse' which enables the display
Plenty of people prefer transferring files through virtual machines. Personally I find it clunky and prefer network, but I guess a Linux vm is just easier to understand to many.
I know this is completely off topic. Do you know besides steam deck if there is any device that can play Pokemon infinite fusion. It’s a windows pc game but can apparently play through joiplay on android. Just wondering if you know of any device that can play this well and actually use the buttons on device to play instead of touch screen
I contacted the devs of JelOS about their Saturn emulation, they said it's because they just saw it wasn't using a Sega emulator and didn't notice until I brought it up. This was a few weeks ago, and they've ensured it runs at full speed now.
Please give an update if the GameCube/PS2 emulation becomes easier to access with JELOS. Needing to take out a separate keyboard for that is a deal breaker for me.
that price can get me a preowned ps4 pro 🤦♀️
[Question] What is the battery life for the Loki Zero using JELOS? Same, worse, or better than using Windows?
@RetroGameCorps can you please do a video on how to dual boot with linux on a AYN Odin Pro thanks 👍
Hot damn this is exactly what I've been looking for. Now if only I could get a hold of it, or any AYN device where I am for that matter...
Would this be the best/cheapest handheld device to play New Super Mario Bros Wii/ U/ U Deluxe mods on?
How can this run 3ds upscaled but your i3 aya neo air plus couldnt when its cpu is more powerful in every way.
Could you retest it? Was it maybe a driver bug?
Is it possible to use android as the OS on this?
Russ, are you going to review Mini Pro?
When emulating, like Wii U for example, what battery life should we expect? Thanks!
Hi ! Do you know how to put an image for your custom collection on Jelos ? I have a black strike without a picture. Thanks ❤
Would you be able to say what the absolute most upper limit is for the Windows gaming side. I am looking to run 360 era PC games
Is this a normal delta for Windows versus Jelos / Linux, or is there aomething wrong with the Windows setup on this device?
So, you need a keyboard to get into PS2 & Gamecube, but just to set the initial settings? Then you can get into it like normal after?
The 3D arcade games chug because Mame software renders them on the CPU for maximum accuracy.
