Thanks for checking out the video! I grew up just north of Milwaukee, so Door County was always a nice, easy overnight. After watching you crush 20+ mile days at Pictured Rocks, my only concern is that there wouldn't be enough trails for you 🤣 I think it's around 30 miles. Definitely a good bit of shoreline and some pretty cool campsites, though!
Thank you so much! Hope you do get the chance to visit America sometime... so much diversity in the landscapes here. Stopped by, and subscribed to, your channel, as well. Look forward to seeing more of the UK, through your lens!
Thank you! Actually got some pretty decent storms overnight... with the drop in humidity and that little breeze after the rain, the weather on that second day was pretty much perfect for hiking!
I know what you mean! We got a couple inches of snow last night, and it looks very different outside right now 🥶 Thanks for following along, and hope you have a great day, also 👍
Thank you so much! That was probably the best campsite I scored all summer... Shared the beach with one other campsite, and they didn't even hike in until almost dark! Peaceful and beautiful is a winning combo 👍
There are so many pretty areas in Wisconsin to explore! I remember visiting Door County as a kid, but haven't had the chance to return and cap since, so it was nice seeing it through your lens (and without all the touristy stuff that usually comes from Door County haha). Great video, and hope to see more! 😊 🏕
Always love hearing that a video stirred some good memories! And the touristy stuff isn't really my jam, either 🤣 Thanks for stopping by, and thanks so much for the positive feedback!
Love Wisconsin! We spent a week in Door County and visited Washington Island when I commanded Fort McCoy. I would like to do a 1-week hike there next year as part of my “Trails Less Traveled” adventure. Any suggestions? Thanks for sharing!
Commanded Fort McCoy?!? Thank you for your service! Definitely have some suggestions for you... The North Country National Scenic Trail runs through Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest, in northern Wisconsin; alternatively, we could recommend a couple sections of the Ice Age National Scenic Trail, which runs exclusively through Wisconsin! Would be happy to discuss in greater detail/help you arrange this trip 👍
@@WanderingMonkHikes June is definitely workable! Can be a little buggy in certain areas of the state, but temperatures are usually pretty reasonable. Will reach out via email!
@@JasonOutdoors I was thinking of you and hopeful that we may be able to get out on the trail together. I've put Wisconsin on my calendar for tentatively the first week in June.
It's a great park... It has 11 miles of shoreline! I went during the middle of the week, and peaceful would be the perfect word to describe it 👍 Glad you enjoyed hearing the birds... worked a little bit harder on the audio for this one! Thanks for letting me know!
Cool. This is on my short list of locations for a first time trip with my boy. The sand beach may have just solidified it. That way I can keep him occupied swimming after what would potentially be a shorter hike. Don’t want to work those little legs too much and still need to keep him occupied at camp. Love how calming your videos are. Also refreshing they are all trip videos. Talking head hiker videos are the worst! Even if I’m talking at the camera I try my best to make sure I’m at least doing it from out on a day hike.
That's awesome! Glad we were able to provide some useful insight... Think it would make for a really memorable first trip. Totally get where you're coming from! This might be a helpful "cheat sheet" for campsites (friendsofnewport.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/campsite-descriptions.pdf). Really appreciate the feedback on the videos, too! Have been thinking a lot lately about whether it's necessary to use one's literal voice to define a channel's metaphorical "UA-cam voice," so your comments are quite helpful 👍 Thanks again, and look forward to seeing what you get up to next ☮
As long as you don’t start the “Top ten tips for new backpackers” brought to you live from my basement thing. Haha. Just reeks of whoring yourself for the algorithm. I guess though. People eat it up.
🤣 I definitely don't envision any major changes to the format, in the near future. Part of what's important to me is that these videos stay fun to make... I just don't really see myself enjoying making that type of content.
beautiful location. Beautiful video! Thanks for sharing!
It's one of my favorite parks in Wisconsin... Beautiful AND peaceful! So glad to hear you enjoyed it. Thank you for watching!
This looks like a good place👍. It's just under 2 hours north of me.. I'll have to check it out. Thanks.

Hello and good video. I would love to visit America sometime. Lovely woodland. Really enjoyed watching and subbed you. Thanks Steve 👍

Thank you. I will be watching your channel too. I'm very interested in the American way. 👍
Breezy day #2, very calming

Nice video! I haven't been to Door County yet.
Thanks! Door County is definitely worth a look. Lots of shoreline, and the Eastern Terminus of the Ice Age Trail is in Potawatomi State Park 👍
Beautiful sceneries of nature!! I miss them so much. I enjoyed your video more for that reason. Have a wonderful day.😊

Exquisite hike! Very calming
Thank you so much! Calming/relaxing is what we're aiming for... Some locations just make it easy. This place is a gem!
😊😊
Beautiful video! Great campsite and the beach is gorgeous!

This is a beautiful location. I enjoyed the chirpy birds throughout the video! :) Nice little shore line too! looks peaceful.
