Still the best slash vid I've ever seen. It's not just the choice of music, it's not just the encyclopedic knowledge of the series, or the excellent editing. It's how they made it look so much like one of those sleazy 8mm porn reels - the sepia tone, the cracked, dirty, patched-up "film" look, all the little artifacts (spots, stress lines, hairs in the lens, etc.) It's a fantastic job. BEST EVER.
At :42 Kirk restrains Spock's hand because he won't stop fidgeting with the stylus. Spock is shaking in response to Kirk's proximity, and is trying to pull away before he acts on his "mating" impulses. Awesome scene in Amok Time. You probably figured that out already, but I thought I'd answer since no one else did, and someone else might be curious as well.
I was right in the middle of making a y'know, one of those, "Oh it was great" comments without REALLY watching it. Then I changed my mind. This is beyond description. The song terrifies me, but it fits the mood perfectly and I love the choice of sepia and the editing and the ending was simply GORGEOUS. This is a work of art and should be revered. I don't think I was breathing for the last minute or so.
Gaaawd, usually I don't go for AU vids, just because I've seen the clips in context and know what they really mean, but... damn. This is so painfully good, I can just watch it over and over. Jesus. Brilliant work.
It sounds as uf many, many people are unaware that "Star Trek" has had a slash following practically since it first aired. I recall hearing convention-goers in the Seventies mention K/S stories and art. I had to wait till the late Seventies to go to my first convention. When I hit the dealers' rooms, sure enough, there were slash zines at a number of tables! There are even slash conventions! That said: I must praise this as a remarkable video. I'll suggest it to friends. Excellent!
This was a brilliant example of how editing can be used to completely tell a story that wasn't there. It was quite amusing, and I'm certain I'll never be able to watch an episode of Star Trek quite the same way again
Hand's down the best, not ONE OF THE, THE BEST K/S video ever made. Ever. Probably will ever be made too. THANK YOU, original maker, and you for posting it, for making this BEAUTIFUL MASTERPIECE. Thank you, always grateful. LonePanther.
o.0 Whoa....I got chills. That was awsome and very hot! The way you get exactly the right scenes and put them together perfectly. Seriously... chills. :)
The fact that this video was stolen from us in 2006 and monetized here, and continues to make money off ads 15 years later, while my own copy was flagged for copyright immediately, is all that is wrong with IP and UA-cam.
OMG! That's one of the best slash videos I've seen. The song fits perfectly and the editing is just amazing! Seems like I have to watch TOS after all ;-)
This is very well done, LOVE the filter, and it's my honest favorite TOS vid. I think the fact that it isn't 100% Star Trek footage might be hurting you in the area of recognition.
OMG! That was the most amazing K/S video I have ever seen! It was so intense and the editing was perfect! Thank you so much for posting it! 5* and a fave!
This wins the internet. Seriously, best fan video I've ever seen. Best thing on UA-cam. Or anything. It deserves *awards*. I can't put my brain back together well enough to express the pure perfection...
Wow. WOW. I'm not into fandom slash, but *this* is excellent, both artistically and technically. I love the exaggerated close-ups and the sepia-tone look, very film-noir. Good sequencing, and a superb edit. Kudos!
This video was uploaded the year after I was born. I'm 18 now, and I have to say... It has definitely held up over the years. The brilliant thing about K/S, is that it is as timeless as the show itself. Didn't even know this fan video was mentioned in the 'For the Love of Spock' documentary until reading the comments, which has me even more excited to see what it entails.
The editing on this is simply sublime. Notice how there are parts where it speeds up and slows down. It's fascinating to watch. Oscar video for interpreting a song in a very meta way.
Absolutely, without a doubt, the best compilation music video ever! It tells a story, which is something that most amateur editors never do. Brilliant work!
Really good! Tell t. jonsey & killa from me, will you? ;) I especially like how it's all in character. Damned right would Spock feel bad about it and leave the Enterprise in shame in a shuttle at the end. It wouldn't be Spock otherwise.
Love love love the talented precision editing. Uber-respect for the hours of scanning footage to find just the right bits to use! You girls rock. One question: what is Spock doing to Kirk at :42? I saw the episode recently but that part is cut out! I would have loved to hear Shatner commenting on this video. Wish someone had uploaded that to YT!
yep that'd be me great sexual tension with a great track for sexual tension (as last heard in Pride and Prejudice with modern day subtitles - ironically with Live Long and Prosper as Darcy's farewell)
I have to say that the editing is superb! Thanks so much for posting this. i'll have to look into t. jonsey & killa they might have some other cool stuff too!
This video and the overwhelming response to it shows how when things aren't overtly said, or even more so kept eternally unsaid and as unspoken subtext, they can prove to be even more compelling.
Brilliant. All I can say...! The video effects (film scratches, coloring) add to the darkness of the overall tone. I'm a little fearful of Spock, after seeing this video! Though, again, I say "Brilliant!" I look forward to any other adaptations from the creators!
omg... wow, this video is beautiful. I'm not really a Star Trek fan, but I do love the new movie and that's how I stumbled upon your video. but after just seeing your vid, I have to say this is a beautifully made video. the editing is amazing, the song is so eerie and so fitting to the story you are telling. simply- WOW. bravo!
commenting on a piece of history
AreTheyGay of course your here!
The fact that this video was mentioned in Spock and Nimoy's documentary never ceases to amaze me
You and me both. :D
I watched the documentary by Nimoy's son, called "For the Love of Spock", and he specifically mentioned this video as being rather "compelling". Lol.
Damn that's awesome
What
Same
Thanks for the tip - I didn't know that documentary existed! Just added it to my "To Watch" list! :-D
i watched it and searched for it because i lowkey remembered watching it before

omfg i cant believe they mentioned this fucking video in "for the love of spock". i first watched this video over a decade ago. incredible.
It is hard to believe how much time has passed and how much I still love this video. I hope it's creators are happy, healthy, and safe.
we literally just watched this in my tv studies class. college is worth it, kids.
liberal brainwashing sounds awesome
This video!? How is that even possible, that's amazing
This video is my entire knowledge of Star Trek. Don't know who these people are but I hope they are happy together ❤
They literally break space, time, life and death to be together.
I'm surprised at how good the music quality is for a video that came out in 2006.
Every way to listen to music now existed in 2006.
LOL, what did you think we used to hear music, stone knives and bearskins?
At :42 Kirk restrains Spock's hand because he won't stop fidgeting with the stylus. Spock is shaking in response to Kirk's proximity, and is trying to pull away before he acts on his "mating" impulses. Awesome scene in Amok Time.

Had the sudden need to rewatch because the documentary reminded me it existed. Then I remember Adam has seen this and omg

I watched this for the first time over a decade ago and I still can't forget it.
Fantastic piece of fanfic. I salute you, and you are STILL WATCHED, don't doubt it.

Hey, we knew 50 years ago that Kirk and Spock were and "item". Don't get me started on Spock and McCoy.
I bow to the creative genius that came up with this. Sheer brilliance.
This has to be one of the best Spirks ever made.
Hand's down the best, not ONE OF THE, THE BEST K/S video ever made. Ever. Probably will ever be made too. THANK YOU, original maker, and you for posting it, for making this BEAUTIFUL MASTERPIECE. Thank you, always grateful. LonePanther.
Watched this so so long ago, can't believe I found it again.
Visceral, Wrenchingly INTENSE! Whoever did this, fantastic job!!!!!!!!
Well, neither of them ever had a relationship with a woman that lasted more than one episode :-D.
@Celestial Wolf They were freakboys and Scotty bringing the whiskey.
@@li8363 Bones bringing the southern booze and Chekov bringing the vodka XD
@@Ivynling Hahaha ! I forgot about Bones with the case of Southern Comfort and Checkov with the Stolichnaya.
Wow. Amazing piece of work. Love live and prosper the makers of this and the fathers of slash. ^^
o.0 Whoa....I got chills. That was awsome and very hot! The way you get exactly the right scenes and put them together perfectly. Seriously... chills. :)
That was one of the most fabulous Trek things I have ever seen. Beautiful editing!
this has been on my favorites for a year, just wanted to toast it with a cold beer, amazing skills
great song. I ´m a big star trek fan. Nine inch nails don´t noticed them till I have heard this song. Man, that kicks realy ass!
Whenever I'm feeling blue I imagine William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy's faces if they ever saw this - and I'm okay again. ^^
LOL
Videos like this are the reason why I love people with way too much free time.
The fact that this video was stolen from us in 2006 and monetized here, and continues to make money off ads 15 years later, while my own copy was flagged for copyright immediately, is all that is wrong with IP and UA-cam.

Epic slash! I love this still! I think I'll just go to my Ready Room...
And somewhere, Willian Shatner and Nenord Nemory have cold shivers running up and down their spines... and they don't know why 8DD
Awesome vid. >D
I've watched this vid entirely too many times, in the last several months. God Bless You!
Could this possibly be the HOTTEST fanvid EVER made? Seriously. Its too brilliant for words.
No matter how many times I see this it just keeps getting better and more hot!!!
Great editing and use of effects.
Really great job!
OMG! That was the most amazing K/S video I have ever seen! It was so intense and the editing was perfect! Thank you so much for posting it! 5* and a fave!

Wow I remember watching this video years ago! Still an awesome and hot video! Uploaded in the first year of UA-cam!!!
I*m so glad this video's ended up here. It doesn't get any better than this! :D
OMG-- I totally *get* ST: OS slash, now! That was *awesome*! Perfectly done!
Everytime I watch this, it just keeps getting hotter and hotter.... I cannot stop watching XD
best editing job I have EVER seen in a star trek video
wow. amazing work. such a menacing, heavy tone. maybe the best thing i have seen on the internet.
i'm sure i've commented on the video before, but I would like to reiterate the fact that it is PURE GENIUS.
jesus christ. That was the best video... ever. I have had this thing for Spock since I was a kid and now? Good god. Thank you.
THAT WAS MASTERFUL. I was literally flapping my hands throughout.
Adore this slash. Very accomplished, and, frankly, very perceptive.
Wow. WOW. I'm not into fandom slash, but *this* is excellent, both artistically and technically. I love the exaggerated close-ups and the sepia-tone look, very film-noir. Good sequencing, and a superb edit. Kudos!
This is the first Star Trek fan-made thing I've looked at since getting back from the premiere, and it's still one of the greatest things of all time.
This is the best original video on youtube, I have ever seen.
best thing ive seen on u tube or anywhere else,
one word,
superb.

Fantastic - I'll have to send this to at least a dozen people.
Absolutely, without a doubt, the best compilation music video ever! It tells a story, which is something that most amateur editors never do. Brilliant work!
Wow, that just tells the whole story, doesn't it? Absolutely brilliant - the effects especially, tieing it all together in that monochrome tone.
Fabulous! One of the best fan videos I've seen!
Thank you for making/posting the video.
I have Amok Time on DVD, along with Trouble With Tribbles.
disturbing and magnificient, all at the same time.u just exponentially increased my heartbeat.......and that's rather hard to do.So wow!
Best fanvid I've EVER seen, hands down.
That was freakin awesome, how the storyline was taken from so many video clips and made into something that we can follow. Good artful presentation.
I must agree. Although I do not like thinking of my fav childhood heroes as lovers, this is the best fan made video I have ever seen.
Really good! Tell t. jonsey & killa from me, will you? ;)
I especially like how it's all in character. Damned right would Spock feel bad about it and leave the Enterprise in shame in a shuttle at the end. It wouldn't be Spock otherwise.

This is a masterpiece! Best fan-made video ever.
Best use of Closer in a fanvid ever!
Who else got here from the documentary?
yep that'd be me
great sexual tension with a great track for sexual tension (as last heard in Pride and Prejudice with modern day subtitles - ironically with Live Long and Prosper as Darcy's farewell)
TheMarcman123 how'd you know
I almost forgot about this vid, it's been so long. But yes, had to see it again after the documentary!
What documentary ?
Just saw it. This video is great.
Are you kidding me. This video is amazing. Great usage of clips and editing.
Kudos eetstomoch
That is quite possibly the coolest thing I have ever seen. My jaw dropped it was so good.
They did an awesome job! Love it!! Thanks for sharing!!!!
Amazing. Seriously one of the best fanvids I've ever seen.

This video NEEDED to be made, and you have done a superb job.
Thank you!
OMFG that is sooo cool, I had no idea Spock was so raunchy under that strict Vulcan exterior. WOW will never look at ToS the same way again.
Brilliant. Really quite amazing. More please. :)
WOW.
All I can say is....WOW. That was truly wicked.
I have to say that the editing is superb! Thanks so much for posting this. i'll have to look into t. jonsey & killa they might have some other cool stuff too!
THAT IS ART!!!
how cool!
Great clips and editing.
This video and the overwhelming response to it shows how when things aren't overtly said, or even more so kept eternally unsaid and as unspoken subtext, they can prove to be even more compelling.
One of the earliest and still probably the best!
Great video- the use of music and all the scenes put together was really well done! I really enjoyed it.
This is just lovely. So wonderful and it works so well. I'm in love with this!
this is the most hilarious thing I've seen in at least the past half an hour
Brilliant. All I can say...!
The video effects (film scratches, coloring) add to the darkness of the overall tone. I'm a little fearful of Spock, after seeing this video! Though, again, I say "Brilliant!"
I look forward to any other adaptations from the creators!
This is just pure freaking genius. I don't even know what to say!
Absolutely SMASHING! Topping vid, well choreographed to a great song.
Woo! Got the blood stirring with that one! *Adds to favorites for future viewing*
Omg that was soooo good!! Very naughty. I LIKE!
The editing was really clever and the effects! This is genius! Love this A LOT!! Very well done
Brilliant!!! The Best I ever saw!
That was incredible - and I'm not even a slash fan! Whoever made that was a god at video editing.
omg... wow, this video is beautiful.
I'm not really a Star Trek fan, but I do love the new movie and that's how I stumbled upon your video. but after just seeing your vid, I have to say this is a beautifully made video. the editing is amazing, the song is so eerie and so fitting to the story you are telling. simply- WOW. bravo!
