Nice tutorial Michael. The lightning button to the right of the memory slots, when active, does the following: If the lower third isn't active (button right top of the lower third), it just automatically switches on the lower third whenever you click on a memoryslot that holds lower third info.
Greetings, excellent work with your videos. I am installing the program but my computer is Windows 11, apparently something is not the same since one of the boxes remains red. I could see that his browser is chrome and mine is saved in with in windows. Any suggestion?
Cant get it to work under MAC even if I have the new version with the cutom dock alternative. My guess is that the file naming system in mac and windows are so different that the program can't read the URL. Anyone else got it to work under mac?
After some fidgeting I found that the way to find the correct URL to the local file is to double click the .html file and copy the URL from the now open browser. This made the program able to read the URL and launch the dock. Lets see if it works as intended. Good luck everyone

I've tried several things, it's still a. Big mess. Would that be possible that that thing needs an update ? It's no script or plug-in so it's kinda weird. Maybe putting 6 logos and 12 sentences via 2 lower thirds on 1 source is heavy, idk, what do you think ?
Great video. Tip regarding URL link. If you hold down Ctrl + Shift and right-click the file name you will see an option to "Copy Path". This will give you the full path including the file extension. You will have to remove the "quotes" when you paste the URL in the required field. I hope this helps
First want to say thank you for all the videos that you make they help so much. I just want to know are you doing or have you done a update about using this lower third with OBS 30.2.3. Once I updated I can not use it anymore.
I solved the problem by following advice given on OBS Forum, only thing it was the reverse of what was told me to enable, I had to disable instead. Turning off Browser Source Hardware Acceleration in the settings worked for me. I never would have thought about looking there for the answer. SOLVED!!

Another great tutorial! just FYI the new update breaks lower thirds. The fix is to uncheck the local file box and put the path in, as you explained, but with file:///c:\path to file.

Got the solution here. When adding the browser source on your Sources, don't check the "local file". But, put the file destination like an HTML. Example (with "Local File" unchecked): C:\Users\yourusername\Downloads\Animated-Lower-Thirds_1.6\Animated-Lower-Thirds\lower thirds\browser-source.html Let me know if it works!

I added my Zoom interface to OBS as a camera in using another computer via HDMI capture card then stream to Facebook and back into the same Zoom meeting via virtual camera using this lower third feature and stinger transition. I spotlighted/pin active participants in fullscreen view. I like the this lower third that enhance my Zoom meetings.
I have created completely custom lower thirds for OBS using motion functions plugin (or something like that) but it's a PITA to deal with two scenes per each lower third. I will have a look at this and see if I can possibly make them my own because it will simplify my thirds A LOT.

Instead of Local files as he suggested in 2:50, try keeping it on URL instead. and click and open the Browser Source on your browser. copy and paste the Browser Source URL on to the OBS browser URL slot. I hope this helps. It helped me get rid of the red light but it still is not showing on my preview screen so I still need to sort that out

The easiest way to set this up is to create a lower third video that would play when you switch to the scene but doesn’t loop. Then it plays when you switch the lower third comes up and disappears and that’s it. You only see it if you leave the scene and come back.

Hi. Yesterday I created lower thirds as instructed in your video. Everything worked fine. I saved it all within OBS profile and even after restarting everything was fine. I was sure it will be fine until... I turned my computer on and OBS on today. The dock is stil there, the created lower thirds there, all switched on but... not appearing on the screen. I turned a monitor window and its not appearing there too. Do you know what could be a problem here? I did not change anything. I created it, it appears to be saved... but did not work

Hi there. I followed all of your steps, but after adding it to the scene source, it still doesn't run. It is docked, there is text, but the box remains red. What could I have missed?
Would this plug in make OBS skip frames “encoding lag” or frames missed “rendering lag” ? Something has changed and slowed everything by up. Any suggestions? & thank you for your incredible guide through live streaming!
It is possible it is taking cpu click cycles that can cause slower machines to struggle, but my machine is pretty old and it didn't seem to have a problem.

Hi Michael, Great tutorial video as usual. Really loved it. I tried it on my Mac but unfortunately it does not work. Returns error stating the URL cannot be found. Would appreciate your help. Thank you and keep up the good work.
I finally found the solution. Double click on the control-panel.html file and it will open in the default browser. Copy the URL from there and paste it in the View-->Docs-->Custom Browser Docs--> URL instead of typing the path. This is the work around for Mac. Hope it helps.

Good update: OBS v27 will now support browser docks in macOS ❤. So no more window capturing there.

I think the multiple slots are for different streams. I don’t think they are meant to be used at the same time.
I'm sure I won't get an answer, but is there a way to have it auto-activate a certain amount of time into recording?

I have followed your instructions several times and I can not get the "Lower third1-2-3 OR 4 ) to go from red to blue. Does this app still work?

These are pretty configurable and look good. They are also pretty easy.

You can move the browser source window wherever you want it.

Hi there. I followed all of your steps, but after adding it to the scene source, it still doesn't run. It is docked, there is text, but the box remains red. What could I have missed?

For Linux, the custom dock URL needs to have the file:// prefix in order to work.

Would this plug in make OBS skip frames “encoding lag” or frames missed “rendering lag” ?

It is possible it is taking cpu click cycles that can cause slower machines to struggle, but my machine is pretty old and it didn't seem to have a problem.

Hi Michael, Great tutorial video as usual. Really loved it. I tried it on my Mac but unfortunately it does not work. Returns error stating the URL cannot be found. Would appreciate your help. Thank you and keep up the good work.
I finally found the solution. Double click on the control-panel.html file and it will open in the default browser. Copy the URL from there and paste it in the View-->Docs-->Custom Browser Docs--> URL instead of typing the path. This is the work around for Mac. Hope it helps.
