Superteam in the past was getting 3 big names and mash them together through them forcing their way through signing without any regard to fit. I.e. Suns, Clippers, LeBron Heat,...no one said Celtics were superteam when they traded for KP. Most people side eyed the trade. No one said super team when Jrue was traded for due to his performance in the playoffs when half the Bucks were injured. In fact most people and media said the Lakers had the best off-season. ROFL. That made me laugh then and makes me laugh now. Oh but now they are a super team? Okay. Don't matter as long as they keep winning.
@@darkmilk5527 matchups is what matters now the Celtics matchup good with a lot of teams and all the players play defense, this ain’t super they are well put together and play team ball that’s not a super team the 2014 spurs are not super team last years nuggets wasn’t a super team, 2021 bucks wasn’t a super team
What alotta yall here in the comments are confusing a super team with a team that has depth a super team is it don’t matter how far down the rotation you go if you don’t play all nba level defense that 2-3 point lead will turn into 20-30 points with the quickness
I feel like this Celtics team can go back to back if they wanted too. They just need to have the right mindset, and some injury luck and hope KP doesn’t get injured again.
To me a super team is either an roster of all starts or simply the starting five has each of the players who are top 5 in their position Also to add when I say all stars I’m referring to last relevant year not an outdated player who an all star in his prime
I think every era has its own definition of a dynasty based on the landscape of the league. Nowadays with so much player movement and the league trying its best to avoid the creation of superteams, I think 2 rings in four seasons and at least 3 finals app could be called a dynasty. But in the 2000s and 2010s it wouldn't qualify bc we saw the Lakers winning 5 in 10 years, the Spurs winning 3 in 5, the Warriors make 5 finals and winning 3. The current decade could really go with 7 or 8 different champions. So if any team win 2 and make 3 finals it would be a dynasty in the context of the current era, imo
The thing is in every sport for ever its been 3. I guess with basketball the argument could be made with player movement but LeBron and KD didn't join for a dynasty. So I don't think that title is why players jump trains.
To be honest, the Boston hate comes from a lot of NBA fans/media discourse with Boston's franchise as a whole and the whole "Weak East" narrative. Also, Tatum and Brown not being able to get in done in the past. By all metrics, the Celtics were a superior team.
Dynasty is 3 rings. Super team means at least 3 players that could each by the all star, the “guy” on their own team.
All star doesn’t mean they could lead their own team. Celtics have five players who could be all stars but only brown could lead his own team
@@deadlylightningspirit4295that's why he said "all star, the guy".

2016-2018 Warriors
2023 nuggets
2024 Celtics
are examples of a superteam
at least 5-man deep
the Kd Nets the Kd suns The Cavz and The heat are a big three.. they are not a superteam
Celtics literally have 5 all stars

Dynasties for me is 3 in 5. Super team is 2 top 10 and the third star being top 20. This is my opinion
The heat wasn't a super team the lost much and didn't sweep everyone in the playoffs
The Celtics are a super team you are delusional
Calling them a superteam in hindsight is rich
How do yall NOT say the Spurs? No back to back championships they won 5 in 15 seasons
