- Here's a great, totally unknown score by MIke Batt, for the 1978 adventure film "Caravans". Terrific work from a composer who very, very infrequently writes filmmusic. Think Miklos Rozsa by way of Thomas Newman. Great stuff! Enjoy.
When words arent enough, the melody begins to speak...
My parents used to play this when I was a young kid, on the stereo my dad had built in his twenties. It has always been and will always be one of my favourite melodies. Never fails to make some tears fall down my cheek. Now playing it again on this same stereo remembering him. May we chose wisely what we do with the time given to us
Much better than the music we have today.
One of the most beautiful movie musical score I’ve heard
Die Musik vermittelt wunderschön das Gefühl dieser untergehenden Welt des Nomadentums.
Brings back great times watching films on a Sunday afternoon on BBC as a child, this is one film/music score I remember. Very happy and contented times😃😃
Mi mamá ama éste tema! Le daré una sorpresa cuando llegue a casa👍🏻 gracias, saludos desde Santiago de Chile 👍🏻😁🇨🇱
So glad I found this music back. It brings back so many nice memories of my youth.
I miss this song 30 years
Kann nur sagen :phantastisch. Einfach wundervoll
That sound is just overwhelming. Brings back some real touching memories of my childhood watching my dad compete in Bodybuilding championships.
When someone says music this is what i expect, real music. thanks for sharing
My mum got the Barbara Dickson "Caravan" single, to which this was the B-side, when I was 8 and absolutely fell in love with it, and I remember many afternoons after school sitting by the record player listening to this over and over again. Now, 38 years later, it's still one of my absolute favourite pieces of music, and a reminder that sometimes the B-side is much, much better than the A-side.
I already gave this comment elsewhere, but it is worth repeating. This particular piece of music is Mike Batt's Golden Ticket to Valhalla.
Ich habe es das erste mal in einem orietalischem cicus in hamburg anfag der 80ern gehört und seit dem liebe ich es
I'm 10 years old, sitting with my family in Radio City Music Hall (when they still showed movies there) in 1978 watching this movie. Even at that age, this music stuck with me. Sweet and full of longing with a middle eastern feel. I love it still.
Absolutely beautiful, Great movie, Great stars, GREAT MEMORIES...
Phantasialand ❤
