NIECE KILLER SENTENCED TO DEATH

- The Livingstone High Court has sentenced to death, a 22-year-old man, who murdered his 3-year-old niece, after defiling her.
Kent Chuulu of Mwapona township in Choma, Southern province, later concealed the body of the girl in a laptop bag, which he dumped behind Choma's Independence stadium.
This happened on May 25, 2019 around 17:30 hours.
Chuulu was apprehended by members of the public, who saw him dumping the laptop bag.
Passing sentence today, Livingstone High Court Judge, Kenneth Mulife said the state had proved the case against Chuulu beyond reasonable doubt.
The court also said Chuulu acted with malice aforethought in killing the young girl, and Judge Mulife explained that the convicted man acted in his right frame of mind.
