I stood less than 6 feet from him in a studio at the radio station I worked at as he hit (And exceeded) that last vocal run in the song. Incredible doesn't describe his voice, and he can still hit those notes today! And I absolutely love this song, so one vote from a guy for this one.
Man, what an awesome memory. Thanks for sharing. Though he doesn't have the recognition as one of the great voices in rock. I would have paid money to be there to hear him sing. Those notes he hits, his voice in general. Simply incredible.
100% correct. I saw Mili at a local hair metal festival, and not only can he still hit these notes in his 50s, but he does that same yoga move when hitting those high notes.
Hair metal ruled supreme, no other gerne will ever surpass it. And for those "macho" men who think this is for girly men, you must know that the latter had way more ladies at their service than u ever imagined!
Only someone not from the 80’s would call it hair metal bands..in the 80’s it was known as heavy metal..It did not become HAIRBANDS until late 90’s term given by grunge bands..steelheart was 90’s glam rock..
80s music, songs, prettyboy singers, and amazing vocals. It'll never come back, but 80s lives forever! Any and every genre of music came out in the 80s! Like Ratt, bulletboys, Vandenberg, whitesnake, Warrant, Kingdom Come, Triumph, Slaughter, and others! Dude is in his late 50s and can still hit the high notes! The bulletboys lead singer hits the same high notes but with gravel! Check out, Smooth up in ya! Damn shame he almost died on tour in 92, nearly broke every bone in his face and spine! But sang in the movie Rockstar with Mark Whalberg in 2000, and it kinda brought him back to life! Hes out and still sings and tours and even does classical music and he's damn good as ever! Dude can sing in damn near 6 octaves 😮😮
You put the smile on my face again :-) I am in love with your reactions and cuteness :-) Please keep this happiness in you even if you are at the age of 100 :-) Keep on doing the good thing you are doing :-)
Most beautiful one I saw them live 1992 back before the accident weary stage prop fell on him and put him in a coma and when he sang that song live he sounded like the studio and did that backward Bend like that on stage
Of course there are always so many opinions with music. Unfortunately the most shallow & overbearing often suck up all the air, so sincere communication suffers. My tastes differ greatly from my peers - older, same, younger. I went to sleep one night & woke up in a different universe & I don't belong here. I love my music, even though I'm outnumbered, It is my life & breath. Never violated by ulterior contrivance or disingenuous & flakey. Fun yes, & laughter, but from sincerity. Alone. Fine. But *never* lonely.
Check.out the live version of this in Tokyo in 91. He does this live as well. Was lucky enough to see Mike in his prime. He still does GREAT live. But an unfortunate live accident on stage just about ruined his career. He came back in the late 90s and still kicking ass. He also does the vocals in Mark Wahlberg movie Rock Star. I believe he does the original singers vocals and Jeff Scott Soto does Mark's.
I'm a 49-year old "boy" and I definitely like this song. lol - this one has been played at many a wedding reception over the years, for sure. P.S. You have an amazing voice yourself, my dear...my Goodness!

Yep, Mike did that move live. I've met him, nice guy, but he suffered from a horrible on stage accident where a lighting rig fell on him. And yes, this is a rock song for girls, nothing wrong with that. Girls gotta Rock too.
Incredible voice. Not even Steve Perry, Freddie Mercury, Ian Gillan, Any male... crushes the highs like Miljenko Matijevic, imho. Certainly gifted female vocalists own the highs, but in truth... dude killed it.
Sebastian Bach and Steelheart ( his name is Mike, but I call him Steelheart), along with Rob Halford, Bruce Dickinson and David Coverdale are the 5 greatest metal singers of all time IMO. All have enormous vocal range 3- 4-5 octave Range. Anyway, I would say steel heart has slightly higher range.
Ok, first of all, you didn't give the proper respect that last note ALWAYS deserves!😂 Secondly, I LOVE this fucking song, even if it's considered a chick song, and third.. What the hell was that weird tangent you went off on there in the middle, 'cause it sounded like it was straight up crazy.
Most guys won't admit in public but yes in private turn this up as loud as it will go even if the mirror breaks and the speakers blow baby. I You might want to try Triumph - Never Say Never.
To understand these type of Vocal Range. ..sing from your lowest note then slowly work your voice to the highest note then go ..one note up and still HOLDED..THAT VIBE IN YOUR VOICES. ...do this 3 hours a day ! !
he was amazing singer. he had a accident when preforming , smashed his face and head. took long time to recover. he dose his own music. if you search you can find him.
I might only understand about 1/2 of what she says (for instance, when she keep saying Angel Eyes I kept hearing 'In July') but she's very entertaining, like no other reactor!
Seen him.live 1992 yes he did that deep back bend and hit that high note no problem saw sebastian Bach skid row yes high voice but no where near Miko of steelheart
I know why would compare them, but Sabstion Bach can only dream of having this voice range.Tryst me i know,i was 18 when this came out.skidrow can't even come close.

One of my secret (no longer lol) pleasures. A good ol ballad can get stuck in my head for days as I listen to it over and over again. This song is near the top of the list. Some others off the top of my head... Beth, I remember you, November Rain, Freebird (kinda), Behind Blue Eyes (kinda) are just a handful of favorites... Any guy who doesn't fall for a ballad or two is either lying or never used music to dive down and rise up from heartbreak or a dark day. Enjoyed your review... However, you look far to young to not be able to make that back bend note blaster... lol Peace
You need to go and listen to she’s gone where he sings it live just a piano that’s it that’s his true voice it’s unreal he can really sing that high it’s unreal he was late to the party though he was late in the 90s when this music was going out grunge was coming in
So I’ve watched a pile of her reactions and I have two things to say. 1- She catches on to the theme and the lyrics quickly and articulates much better than 90 percent of American women I know. 2- I used to be annoyed by her singing over the songs but I’ve come to realize it’s like a guitar player jamming air guitar while a killer solo is playing, she is just really into the grove and that’s her honest reaction at the moment. Quickly becoming one of my favorite people to watch react to great music.
So, you asked if boys like those kind of songs? Well, of course we do as when it gets the girls all excited & let's just say they are almost ready to explode & it don't take much to take them there. I remember watching this back in the day on MTV and was blown away...it stayed number 1 for quite awhile
In my humble opinion the front man here Miljenko Matijevics Vocals are not and will never be matched. His range is mind blowing.
I’m a guy and i love that song. It’s great for the vocals alone.
He does that same acrobatic move singing live.
he sang even higher live back then and did hte same move while doing it

In the 80s, this genre was called Jair Metal, and this particular song is called a Power Ballad, a huge part of rock music in the 80s!
