The fact that 14 years later an employee that was there the day Duncan went missing...was also there a decade later when they recovered his body says a lot (plus how the employees were the ones to clean up his remains)..just goes to show how much the police and Ski resort owners trust their workers. And how lax they are. This really supports Josh's theory of multiple people being involved in the cover up.

I think if his parents had stopped searching, they'd never even been notified of him being found. I'm so glad they got to bring him home.

To suggest anyone who goes to the ski resort to ski down the same slope as skiing over his son's grave is out of line. His son is neither buried there, nor should any outdoor recreation destination where someone's ever died, be turned into a memorial site.

As a Canadian, who also worked at a major ski resort, I am both appalled by the story, but not entirely shocked. The skiing/snowboarding industry is riddled with coverups and ethical issues. These companies make millions and millions of dollars yet their regard for safety is extremely low. When people think of Canada, they often think of the skiing and snowboarding experiences that the country offers; and therefore bad press is detrimental. So rather than doing the right thing and reporting any issues, it is quite likely that incidents get covered up and it pushed aside. My heart goes out to the victims family having to deal with this tragedy

So sad that that was more important than human beings and their families getting closure.

This reminds me a tiny bit of a missing person case here in BC, Ryan shtuka- who was working/snowboarding at a ski resort for the winter and managed to completely disappear 6 years ago after leaving a house party with friends, it was only a 5 minute walk from the party to his residence and he somehow disappeared in that short amount of time and has never been found since even after extensive searches and in the summer when a lot of the snow has melted.. it’s assumed he maybe fell in a bank but it’s crazy to me how he couldn’t be found even that close to the town

I used to work at a ski resort in California and to be completely honest I think this is a cover-up involving multiple people. The reason I think this is because I worked at a smaller scale ski resort than the one referenced in the video and it requires so many people to keep a resort going. In just the rental space alone there’s sooo many employees, and in the mechanic department where people are handling the big machines there are obviously less workers but there are a lot of them who deal with the machinery on a daily basis which means someone other than the initial killer would have seen The remains left on the machinery. On a daily basis, even on a slow day I would handle 100’s of people in the gift shop alone! The sales were insane imagine how much money they would lose if people didn’t feel safe enough to go to that specific resort. It would certainly be an astronomical financial loss. People want to keep their jobs, & companies want to continue to make money so I believe it wasn’t just one person this is for sure a bigger scale cover up. Money will make people do crazy things.

I will never ever understand why authorities, in any country, do not listen to family members when they say something is not right! As a parent to adult children, you still know your kids better than anyone else and you KNOW when something is not right!!
Why does this always continue to happen!!

Hey guys, can't wait to watch the documentary! Just a quick question. I've noticed that the Mile Higher podcast, True Crime with Kendall Rae podcast and The Sesh podcast are all promoting the documentary, and there's a lot of " we " talk, but it seems that it's only going to be premiering on the True Crime with Kendall Rae channel. Just wondering if that's because it's the channel with the largest following or if there's anything about it that makes it specific to that channel. No hate, just curiosity. ❤

The cover up theory makes so much sense!!! 💯 This case is so chilling and bewildering. The lack of empathy, care and compassion from so many people is just mind blowing. Makes me definitely NOT want to ever support that ski resort, that’s for sure. I hope and pray someone comes forward one day and I pray Duncan’s parents are surrounded with comfort, love and peace after all they’ve been through. 🙏🏻❤🙏🏻

Just finished watching, amazing episode. It’s so unfortunate how the police is there to help yet they just make the situations so much worse or just don’t do anything at all. Crazy that we are supposed to look up to the police

I think it is really important to understand that Germans and Austrians have a far more direct, blunt communication style. Additionally, the Austrian officer is speaking a non-native language in the interview and may not have said EXACTLY what he meant. I don't usually give cops the benefit of the doubt but we need a little bit more cultural nuance in this particular analysis.

Here we all are 20 years after his body was found and in agreement that this whole case stinks. Perfect strangers and amateur sleuths looking at it and saying that this family did not get the dignity and justice they were entitled to. How absolutely maddening that law enforcement could be so cold and hardhearted to the family. Not one official on the case did their job properly. What an absolute nightmare.

I find it hard to imagine one person being able to handle the clean up and cover up - I suspect a superior was also involved. I doubt it was more than two people though? God this was handled so terribly, his poor parents 😢

I for sure think it was more then one person. At least three. You need to think about how much of a mess that would make and on top of that there are more then just one person out there cleaning up at the end of the day. You can almost always see the slopes from the resort. How the police reacted is a big red flag and kinda stands by the reasoning they were involved. If it was one guy and he reported it and the police told that one guy it’s fine, even if the driver didn’t want to cover it up where else would he have gone to get justice.

I think it has to be more than one person, especially with the equipment rental. The additional gloves with him, and the cord around his leg, leads me to believe that he was placed there purposely, and then covered. I think an accident happened, and then they covered it up. I think he was, likely, and hopefully, already dead when they found him.

I don't understand why some police stations just don't seem to fkg care enough to do a proper job. It just vexes me so much. A mother knows.
