absolutely. I am a huge fan, I love his stage persona and I am shocked how "normal" he is. I hope he and the band members stay like that AND keep writing this crazily fantastic music. Thanks for this interview, Allison, showed me a new side of this guy - a side that I love as much as I love his voice and their music.

The most watched / sold Hungarian musician was asked recently about this (he also rocketed into fame witihin a few years) and he answered he is taken care of family and friends to stay sane. So I hope the Mane guys have this kind of support. And will be able to keep themselves and us entertained and happy ;)

I am so happy that Damiano understands what it means being a celebrity and has a very healthy distance to his private personality. I am so happy that he speaks so openly and is so honest about it. A lot of celebrities cant build that distance between their private self and their role on stage, which very often causes them serious problems.
Love how he is keeping it real. Others are like "yeah, I am the shit"
I love this interview. Damiano is so polite, grounded and humble that he seems to have learned from others rockstar’s mistakes. With this mindset Maneskin will last for very long time ❤️

@@PedroS-ig1wrTotally disagree. It's not cool to behave like an asshole in real life. Sure, you can put on a show of being the hot arrogant rock star on stage. But when you deal with people directly you need to treat them right and - in the case of employees etc be thankful for their service.
@@apl2606 I agree with you my friend, but no need to be arrogant or a bad person to someone. I refer to guys like Kurt Cobain or Layne Staley, they were very calm and respectful guys but they had the rock n roll attitude by talking about everything without fear.
But I also know nowadays the fear of being cancelled affects all these artists. A wrong word and they can disappear from the map instantly. Is not easy
this is an artist that I think will not go crazy with fame. I am so happy for this group. They really blew up after the eurovision.
Maneskin should write a book about how to behave when you become famous, they give hope for the future of music, not just through talent but through attitude too.
The irony is that they have too much humility to write such a book ;)

He has the healthiest perspective to being a singer and celebrity that I think I've ever heard. There may have been other singers throughout the ages who have felt the same but I've never heard it articulated quite the way he just did. And if the band ever wanted to use the word 'articulate' in a future song, that would be interesting to listen to too.

A brilliant performer and it's obvious that he knows it's just that.... A performance for our entertainment. A true artist really cool man really cool band. To me they are the best "new" band to emerge since the Killers. And that is a compliment.
I wish my fellow Italian people would understand this interview (of course many will). Damiano shows enormous wisdom and humility. He is very generous in sharing his understanding of how celebrity works. Not only that, but also how to escape from its downfalls. I love their music, and hearing this wonderful interview gave me hope for the future of younger generations❤

@@bbcfilm5539 that is crazy. As an outsider, seeing the kind of hate Italy gives them, I get second hand embarassement. Of course it's not the entire Italian population, but this small portion that jumps on the hate wave. It's between sad and pathetic, there's so much jaundice and pettiness, and complete detachement from reality, that it really makes you start wondering what's going on in that society...

I love what he said in the beginning about the stage persona. I once went to a hospital for depression and that funny doctor asked me, if there is a time when I don't feel like that. And I said: "yes, on stage, but that's not really me" 🤣 I swear that guy thought I got multiple personalities or schizophrenia. But it's true, you leave your personal baggage in the backstage. And your stage persona is you, but it's also not.
Wait, the psychologist was surprised by that? It should be obvious to him. There's generally something like "actor's personality". This guy here definitely does have it and many performers do as well. It's this kind of fluidity and ability to transform between different vibes and behaviors. You're getting 100% into the "character" you want to push forward at the moment. It can bring a relief, because you leave your emotions outside of the persona and are in control of what is happening. But it can also get dangerous if you forget to switch it off and get back to being natural.
I've seen all interview, you're very good and Damiano is really amazing. Keep up the good job.

I think growing up in a city like Rome where everyone works in the tourist industry and you realize that it’s all just a façade. Being a Roman Street rat is part of what makes these guys who they are and why they are so authentic and real. It’s a city where you grew up literally expecting to work in the tourism industry. And they somehow made it out of that. It’s really an incredible story when you think about it.
I am from Rome and I can assure that this view you have is completely distorted. No one who grows up in Rome grows up with the idea that he or she is expected to work in the tourist industry😂Tourism is surely an important part of the city but only one of the many. Most Romans don't even live in the centre where the tourism is.

Here's the think... I like artist a lot when I can, apart from liking their music, also connect with them as real people, share the same thoughts and emotions. When an artist becomes famous, if they also become cocky idk I lose interest immediately. That's why I love Maneskin cause they seem real.

He said it well…it’s not normal to be famous! It’s hard for people to stay stable in their head if hundreds, thousands, millions of people worship them. Healthy people need to have role models; if they start thinking they are at the very top of this world of ours, the magic is gone. There always has to be someone to look up to, someone smarter, someone more beautiful, someone to impress you.

Ritengo che Damiano abbia torto a dire " facciamo musica,non salviamo vite " sebbene io comprenda il significato dietro quete parole,sono sicuro che anche tanti artisti che non se ne rendono conto ( quindi forse anche lui ) in realtà hanno salvato con la loro musica le vite di tanti giovani che altrimenti non avrebbero avuto uno scopo per cui vivere ed affrontare gli ostacoli che la vita ti propone ogni giorno.

I sang it out loud behind my mask during the last confinement as soon as I went outside and it lasted six minutes. During the time of the song my symptoms disappeared and I managed to walk further and further. look down on people because you find it ridiculous that's your problem but let this person express themselves you don't know what they went through to say that

You are right in saying that Music and Maneskin in particular have "saved your life" because they have helped you solve problems and I am happy for you.
But it was you who did the bulk of the work, they gave you that very important push that served to give you the strength to leave.
The meaning of Damiano's speech is different as he refers to someone who is an emergency surgeon and who does everything himself. Best wishes for a good life.
@@tasso_viola2011 of course they are not surgeons, but we must not minimize the magic of music on mental health which is just as important as physical health in my opinion. and where a surgeon heals the body, music heals the soul and that is just as important. It's nice to see that he's humble and that's to his credit, but he helps a lot of people with depression. Just with the coraline song it frees speech.
