What I appreciate about NARS is that the shades for women of color are thoughtful and accurate to our natural skin tones. They were clearly created with actual brown people all over the brown spectrum present. Fenty got all these other brands SHOOK *cough Makeup forcever* cough *Mac* on social media like “we’ve had 40 shades forever” headasses, but what they don’t realize that many of their shades are cartoonish shades of red and orange that were clearly created with little thought. Worst of all despite existing for all these years it seems a lot of these brands don’t listen to or apply feedback from WOC. Not NARS tho, I also love that I’m Tahoe in every single formula. Consistency is cute af. GO NARS

So true!! Some foundations will be my shade & then flop. The only ones I found that works is nars & mufe. I have Fenty in 390 but, it oxidizes a little orange on me & I have to tone it down with mac studio fix powder(nc 55). Mama is hopping to Sephora after work to swatch & sample!!

I’m so pale that I have literally never found a foundation that didn’t look orange on me, except for lightening an urban decay foundation with Kat Von D concealer because I really hated her foundation even though it matched me. I think Lancôme’s doesn’t look too bad for my skin tone and I was thinking about trying Fenty but since I wear foundation like 2 times a year it’s not worth it lol. So I get you sis, when people describe foundation as “fair” I’m like hmm lol no that’s still orange but.. okay 🙄
I like that they supplied you with small samples of every shade instead of giving you like 30 full size bottles. No one needs EVERY shade and it's so wasteful even though i love that you can show us different shades

I love that They gave just small samples of each shade and then the full size of the shades that would most likely be hers. So many of these PR boxes send 20 bottles to influencers and they get watched and never used again... It's so wasteful, it's nice to see a PR package make sense

I'm a make-up artist who's just had some training on the new Nars. The difference between sheer glow and the radiant longwear is the coverage, the finish and the length of wear time. Sheer glow is medium coverage (to buildable) and a slightly more satin to matte finish. Radiant longwear is the less matte version of all day luminous. For people with dry skin, the all day luminous is a no go! This is a full coverage foundation for those that don't want a super matte finish, and for those who's skin may be on the dryer to normal side. When applied on a normal to dry skin with the radiance primer, the foundation really comes into its own and gives more glow than sheer glow. It still looks great on an oilier skin too.
It has been designed to be applied with fingers, like all other Nars foundations. Hence why they are usually thinner and more skin like when compared to other full coverage foundations. I was told that this is the reason why they do not stock a foundation brush. Looking great Jackie!
Marie S thanks for the info but I’m a little confused because I want to try a NARS foundation but don’t know which one... I have normal to dry skin and like medium coverage. No heavy acne scars or anything. I was thinking sheer glow since it seemed the lightest for everyday?
Tiara Tisha no problem. I would go for sheer glow if you want a medium coverage.
I have dry skin and wear sheer glow. All the Nars foundations are oil free, so if you are having a drier skin day make sure your skin is well prepped with a good hydrating serum, moisturiser and primer so you can make the most out of the foundation.

Sheer glow was actually made to become more radiant over time, a common thing heard with sheer glow on first application is "it dosent look very dewy" and thats because as you wear it sheer glow has humectants that bind more hydration to the skin through out the day creating more and more glow. Thats also why sheer glow is better worn on dryer or more dehydrated skin thats benifit more from that constant hydration. However you can still wear sheer glow if your oily, you may just need to powder it down more :)
Radiant long wear was formulated to maintain that same level of radiance all through out the day and can wear on any skin type weather oily or dry, it dosent have the same humectants as sheer glow but offers quiet a bit more coverage and long wear

I really appreciate these swatches. When I was at beauty school, the darkest girl in my class was Indian and she was very light. So we got no practical experience with deep with deep skin tones so these are very helpful. Thank you!

Leticia Perry milk makeup has a transfer proof foundation. Look up thattaylaaa on here she reviewed it and she's very down to earth and real. Her reviews are one of the few I trust.
Leticia Perry I’m testing a sample today (Tahoe). It’s very long lasting. It’s a beautiful finish. This foundation TRANSFERS. I’ve washed my hands 3 times and used wet wipes in between. It’s even all over my phone. But the shade and longevity is amazing!
If you powder and press it in, it’s transfer resistant. I did the white napkin test and there’s nothing on it
