    Hi guys. Great channel and product review. My only issues are the following, FORD LISTEN UP. 1 ) Double pane glass all around. 2)electro magnetic suspension Bose suspension 3) a steering wheel buy wire like Lexus. 4 a V6 hybrid like Toyota sienna. 5 ) a 2,000.00 noise dampening to keep the noise out like Lexus. There. That's what I want for the 2024 crypto. (Ekko)

      Thanks for stopping through and watching! We love the Ecoboost engine (we have a f150, so we may be biased 😂), but it would be great to see those upgrades for sure. One can dream!
      But honestly after having a sprinter and promaster, this chassis is a dream compared to them. I guess we will see what upgrades they make for the 2024s. I doubt much though since we know how most of these companies work 😂.

    I just picked up my poptop EKKO in Phoenix and drove it back to Portland, the trip went great, love the EKKO. I have had a few issues though, wondering what issues you've had and if you have solutions.
    1. The blind spot monitor is going off all the time, and sometimes not when there's a car in the blindspot. This has been an ongoing issue with the EKKO. Our '23 has a Ford system (earlier models had an aftermarket system), so I'm taking it to the local Ford dealer on Tuesday, hopefully they can fix it, or it's a Winnebago issue.
    2. The Truma heating ducts appear to be kinked (another common issue). The coach stayed warm on my trip home with night time temperatures below freezing, but you can't feel hot air coming out of the floor vents. The cabinet under the passenger bed is VERY hot, the cabinet under the drivers bed is ice cold. I haven't been monitoring the temperature in the outside cabinets or garage yet. The earliest I can get an appointment at a local Winny dealer is early May... I was so excited to pick up the EKKO that I let the dealer rush me through the walk through, the dealer in AZ had the coach for a month before we picked it up, and it was driven to AZ from the factory so it's frustrating that these issues weren't addressed before pickup. They were under staffed when I picked it up and weren't very capable in addressing the blind spot issue. If I had them check out the heating vents I'm sure I would have had to stay in Phoenix for multiple days.
    3. Shower wall strap doesn't hold the wall in place while driving. Any suggestions for a good way to hold the shower wall in place while driving appreciated. I'm thinking replace the push snap with something more secure, or a hook and eye.
    4. Coach main door has started squeeking while driving because it's loose, 1/4-1/2" of movement in and out when it's latched. I will try adding some weather stripping to the frame.
    We have an appointment in May at a local dealer we would have bought from if they could have gotten us a unit before the fall, hopefully they can fix these issues (and others) or I might be making a road trip to Iowa.

    • @NealBritt
      @NealBritt  Рік тому +1

      Congrats on the new Ekko! You will certainly love it once you get everything taken care of. Very frustrating to have issues on a new rig, but unfortunately it's the common thing with all the manufacturers.
      We have a 23, but on a 22 chassis with the aftermarket blind spot monitor. We have been fortunate to have no issues. Definitely make sure Ford takes care of that ASAP. That sounds very frustrating.
      The ducts are a common issue for sure. We didn't have that issue. It is a fairly easy fix if you want to tackle that yourself. But it is time consuming to say the least.
      I know the door can be adjusted fairly easily too, but we also did not have that issue.
      We are only here on a travel nurse assignment, but we recommend Roy Robinson RV in Marysville in Washington. Their head tech is a rock star and prior to pickup he went through every single part of the Ekko. I know most dealers are backed up, but I would highly recommend giving them a call.
      They were the best dealer we have ever worked with and know their stuff.

    • @NealBritt
      @NealBritt  Рік тому

      As for the shower stall I'd see if you can attach a simple magnet system. We have not had that issue either (guessing because Roy Robinson really went through the rig... Then even cleaned up and redid caulking on the roof. Never asked us anything and went above and beyond to take care of Winnebagos sloppy work).
      Not sure if you are part of the Winnebago Ekko owners and wannabees group on Facebook, but it is a valuable resource. Use the search function at the top of the group and I'm sure someone has come up with solutions to any issue you have.

    • @NealBritt
      @NealBritt  Рік тому +1

      Also, since you have a pop top. I recommend open the pop top and closing it a few times to make sure the weatherproof seal is fastened properly. Some have seen leaks there because it was not caulked properly. I recommend getting a thing of Pliobond 25 multipurpose adhesive. It will fix any of the seals for good. Extremely great adhesive and flexible, so it can take a beating. We had to put it on all our seals on our garage doors, as they all started to come off. Glued them back into place and have held up great.
      And thinking more about your door, I think some weather seal will do the trick. Some foam or silicone weather stripping will make it seal solid.

    We should be getting our EKKO in a few weeks. Enjoying watching yours from Bend in the meanwhile. Been hoping that Starlink will be all that we need for internet. Maybe not in the PNW. Trees.

    • @NealBritt
      @NealBritt  Рік тому

      Thanks for watching! Congrats on your new Ekko! You will really enjoy it once you get it. I (Neal) think it was more that we were in a narrow canyon at that first spot. When Brittany said we tried 4 spots she meant in general. The first roads had 4 plus feet of snow and were closed so that was a no go. Our original backup had someone basically living at it 😂.
      Then the 3rd spot was near the canyon wall so we struggled with a full signal (we were streaming UA-cam, regular calls, emails, etc. Just couldn't keep a steady enough signal without our video call getting choppy.
      We should have specified that more in the video. If it wasn't a business call, say it was family or friends instead, we would have stayed there.

    • @andrewhill1251
      @andrewhill1251 Рік тому +2

      @@NealBritt Do you see backing up the Starlink with a cell service like Nomad? We plan to take a lot of video calls on the road. Just wondering how much we'll be able to rely on Starlink.

    • @NealBritt
      @NealBritt  Рік тому +1

      No, we have unlimited data on our phones and just use them as hotspots. It's what we have done the last 5 years on the road and has worked great.
      We like to stay on forest roads and BLM land, but many amazing places have no cell coverage so that's why we opted for having starlink too.
      No offense to Nomad as a company, but it is just overpriced cell internet. Yes, it has c band and obviously picks up a signal a little better than cell phones, but that's all it is. So if you have a good amount or unlimited data on your cell plan, just use your phone as a hotspot when needed.

    Hey Neal, Details on projector?

    • @NealBritt
      @NealBritt  Рік тому +1

      It's actually an older one. My father had it laying around, so he sent it to us. It's a Dell M115HD projector. Much better than any of the $200-$600 ones on Amazon. We bought a few and tested them, but this blows them out of the water. We can watch it with the windows open during the day and it's crisp like watching a normal TV.
      I think you can still find them on Amazon though, but not sure.

    Nice… can’t wait for our EKKO to start its build. Still don’t have a delivery date. Been over a year now…. What’s your typical downlink and uplink speeds on Starlink and what package are you signed up for? Thanks for sharing the journey…

    • @NealBritt
      @NealBritt  Рік тому +1

      Thanks for watching as always! Hoping you get a delivery date soon. I'm glad we were able to find one on the lot, especially before the latest price increase.
      We will have a video up next Sunday about our first few days with starlink. We have starlink roam (the new RV version). We have been seeing steady over 200mbps download and 50-150mbps upload on average I'd say. Very nice so far! We also just ordered a ladder mount and I will be cutting the starlink wire, making a warerproof plugin on the roof access port of the Ekko, and be able to quickly pull the dish out, put it on the ladder mount, and simply plugin to the port on the roof of the Ekko.

    Hey Ekko Fam, The dehumidifier y'all recommend, does it run on 110 power so you probably don't run it for long when not on shore power?

    • @NealBritt
      @NealBritt  10 місяців тому

      We actually were on hookups when in Oregon using it, but when we would go out on Brittany’s days off (she’s a travel nurse so she works 3 days a week on contract) we would never bee on hookups and just left it plugged in and on whenever parked.
      No worries about the batteries on our Ekko, but we also tend to move every day so we charge the batteries up from the second alternator and our dc dc charger off the main alternator.
