In all seriousness, you’re absolutely right about the media pushing the idea of being in a relationship on people way too early. I mean the more adults I meet, the more those of them who I talk to who are still single are a lot happier than those who jumped into a relationship they had no business being in, now with unwanted kids and finance/emotional turmoil.
I have so many things to say about this, but I'll only say one right now. When I was little, I thought that being in a relationship with a boy was what my goal in life was supposed to be. I pretended to have crushes on boys my age, and I even kissed a boy once. I didn't have any attraction to any of these boys, and then I later figured out I am sapphic. This is a huge problem, and it has affected me, and so many other people. It really, really sucks, and I wish it weren't so romanticized in media.
@@teally-bop I mean even in the religious circles that I grew up in, there was just this sort of unspoken assumption that if you were really following God’s will, you were going to be married. But despite all my best efforts, I never found anyone who was attracted to me. And that really bothered me, not just because I wanted to be in a relationship, yes, but I also thought there was this additional pressure. I don’t believe my belief system says anything of the sort about needing to be married, but there are a lot of churches that kind of assume that that’s what everyone is supposed to do, which doesn’t do anyone any favors!

You just need to find the right Church for you. If you aren't happy with the one you're in, I'd suggest you'd find another one. Moving churches doesn't mean you'd be moving religions and it doesn't change much on behalf of worshipping!
@@geekedhoopoe6371 Oh yeah, it doesn’t offend me at all. Because the Bible says more about the value of staying single instead of getting married. And I’ve long since moved away from any groups that adhere to that idea, it’s just super frustrating that I had to struggle with that when I was too young to really know how to take what they said with a grain of salt. It wasn’t until I was older that I really read the Bible and figured out what it said as opposed to what other people wanted to believe. Now I haven’t dated in probably five or six years and I’m honestly the happiest I’ve ever been.

Kidz Bop used to be played at our grade 4 parties, and the music was so annoying to the teachers that they ended up banning it, even though a bunch of kids were obsessed with the music, so obsessed with it that all of the grade 2s thought that "kids" was spelt "kidz" because that's what they constantly saw. So that was quite interesting...

When I was in 3rd grade (2001) me and my 5th grade friend brought a walkie talkie to school so we can link up on the school's walkie talkie's and mess with them. We did it a couple of times and usually when we were on the bus. 3 days later we got caught and we were in big trouble. This was right around the age where kids start doing their first bad acts consciously. So this being my first big bad act, I was terrified of the consequences and I was crying. Parents came to school and scolded me, when I got in the car I kept trying to convince them that it wasn't me, it was another kid. Eventually they believed me. Right before we got home, the song "The Middle" came on. I was listening to the chorus lyrics and it hit me pretty hard that I should tell the truth. "It just takes some time".
Funny though, I never told them the truth and eventually I realized my parents are two pieces of drug-addicted shits that barely supported me throughout my entire childhood. 30 years old and haven't talked to my parents since 2010. There's my trauma dump for y'all

@@SteveTerreberry please don’t hate me for saying this but I’ve actually enjoy listening to kidz bop for nostalgia purposes and I’m turning 20 in a few weeks and I’ve actually been enjoying all the recent stuff and believe it or not I’m actually really looking forward the the next big album for 2024. I don’t care what the haters or other people say, I’m just the odd one out. And I’d be devastated if they actually got shut down. I’m not gunna watch this video because I hate the idea of people hating on kidz bop because they’re are some people out there (including myself) that still enjoy it so in my HONEST OPINION kidz bop SHOULDN’T be stopped

I know exactly how you feel, Steve. I have the same problem with my nephew being exposed to crap even worse than this on the internet. 😅 And I've always hated KidzBop ever since it came out. It's so cringey and pointless. Literally, why are they still making these?!

@Steve Terreberry I agree Kidz bop needs to be stopped, its basically teaching you to be in a "relationship with someone" when your young and saying to "light things on fire". A child is gonna hear these songs and not know what is it or if its wrong depending on the child's age.
The Internet is a big place, and children can find just about anything when on the Internet.
It's terrible if they find something so werid and not meant for childen shows or songs. I know these things cus, i found scary things on the Internet when i was young. 😢
