Started yesterday and finished today morning ... Absolutely LOVED this drama ! It has moments to laugh, moments to cry., a message... and actors where so on point ... just perfect!
The ending was unexpected. I was happy and sad at the same time! Yi heon was being harassed from the moment he was born. Such a cruel life he had to live! He was a pure soul, I want to hug him😢
There is only one other drama that has impacted me like this one, and that is Vincenzo, but this ending is SOOOO WRONG! I am so seriously disappointed by this choice of ending. NEVER . Stories are suppose to encourage us yet this is the most destructive ending possible. So much work put into this production it is just too much. Does that mean I should have walked into the light too?! Because my abuse and abandonment was just as bad as his was?! Because I am STILL as exhausted as he was!?! I should abandon myself?!! Brutally disgusting! Will this production company take responsibility for the self endings that this encourages? In a span of 2 minutes it went from my favorite in years to a crime against humanity.
The ending is realistic in the case of if something like this happen in real life. Yi Heon attempted to take his own life. As he said, the second he jumped off, he left everything behind. Deuk Pal was the one who defeated the bullies and made a life worth living. But it wasn't Yi Heon living that life. It was his body but it wasn't him. Yi Heon was still who he was in the first episode. His personality would remain the same. There is a high chance he'd live the same life as a loner, just without the bullying. Everything would be foreign to him and overwhelm him. I understand why he would choose to walk in the light. His life wasn't HIS life anymore and he was okay with that. The show isn't telling you this is what you should do as it's impossible in real life. To others, Yi Heon changed and stood up for himself and made a life worth living. Now I think tht can be a lesson in this. Do you best to make your life the way you want it to be. And I doubt it's telling people to off themselves. To everyone, Yi Heon is living his best life. Man would've felt like a stranger in his own body if he went back. Everyone got close to Deuk Pal, not Yi Heon so he would feel out of place and potentially off himself again.
