Considering he never trained until the age of 18 and didn't take kickboxing seriously until he was 22-23 what he accomplished there is already a hell of a story. Then he gets into MMA in his 30s and accomplished all he has already. That's some Hollywood movie type shit
He started training when he was 21, and only became a professional when he was approximately 24 (that is, living exclusively from fighting). Putting it into perspective, at the age that Jon Jones was already champion, Alex was still an amateur who lived by changing tires living in a favela.

You add another 20 lbs and there's no way that does not have a negative affect. He was even rocked in the first Izzy fight and nobody has rocked him at 205 and all are bigger hitters than Izzy.
