From my personal experience, friendship breakups are definitely worse than a regular relationship breakup. One minute y’all are BFFs. But then things start to go dark. Two “broken” people either can make a lifetime bond with each other or they just simply went to their separate ways and immediately moved on due to trauma and a lack of communication. Lesson is if you’re trying to befriend someone, make sure their mentality is in the right place because you may never know what that person is going through.
You can tell Maddy grew because she looked at that performance from a character based on her and felt embarrassed. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

I’ve always liked Maddy, but I actually love her this season. I’m so glad they decided to show her more vulnerable, sensitive side in S2. Also you can tell she still loves Cassie deep down bc at the end of this scene when Cassie storms out, Maddy looks back at her and looks hurt. I’d love for them to have it out and eventually be friends again, but realistically there’s no coming back from dating your best friends abuser.

I have to say Maddie has become my favorite character this season but this episode showed me a side of her that i had been dying to see since the first episode. You get to see the vulnerability not just about her family life but her friendship with Cassie and Lexi and how they both meant more to her than anything❤️

I love how the play is just open therapy/reflection on things that have affected at least some people and caused Maddy, Cassie, Rue etc. to look at themselves through the lens of someone else who didn’t see them in a bad view but a realistic one, you can see throughout the time that Cassie and Maddy miss each other because those days to them were wonderful and the realization of how gone those days are is honestly heartbreaking

Cassie did mess up because Maddie cried on her shoulder told her how abusive Nate is and all of that and you just still went a slept with him and think that was okay because like Lexi said how are you going to sleep with someone that does nothing but talk about you, Nate was the reason her and mccay broke up because there was videos after videos of her sleeping with other dudes and that’s what made him scared of becoming in a long term relationship with Cassie because of Nate showing him and other people those videos
Ok but you realize he also initiated their sexual relationship when Cassie was at her lowest point following what went down in S1. Cassie is only seen for and loved for her physical looks. Whenever she has physical relationships, she conflates it with love because that’s all her relationships have ever been based off of. She was also drunk when Nate and her hooked up. She also has massive daddy issues that lead her to prioritize men in her life to attempt to fill the gap her dad left. I think people are being too hard on her and don’t understand where she’s coming from. All the characters in Euphoria are deeply flawed. But we also got hope that she can change (seeing that Maddy’s boss also did the same thing but that doesn’t necessarily make her a bad person.)

I didn’t trust Maddy last season but this season has shown her true colors, she truly is a good person and cares about the people around her even how she treats Theo shows the kind of person she is at her core. I wish I had a friend like her, I was in her situation in high school, my best friend since 7th grade fucked my boyfriend. Tbh it hurt more that she did that to me it wasn’t even him I was sad about about. I loved her like a sister and I would’ve never done that to her. I feel you Maddy, I had a Cassie in my life, too.

You know Lexi's play might have been for karma exposing everyone's personal life but in a way all the characters got to look back on their past again, seeing the students react them on stage really opened up a lot of good and painful memories for all of them.

I wanted to see the origin of Cassie and Maddie’s friendship tbh. It was like first season they were had a couple of cute moments but seemed like their barely knew each other and now this season they were like sisters? Did I miss something? I feel like the scene where Cassie tells Maddy she can sleep in her bed is the first time we see how they started getting closer

Idk they showed in season one maddy being closer to Kat, they are together in flashbacks and she is the one that Maddy calls first when she was sad, and Cassie was a bad friend, like when everyone knew that Nate hurt Maddy she helps him by telling Maddy where Nate was. It seems like they did a poor job showing that Maddy and Cassie are supposed to be best friends, they barely interact and maddy was kinda of rude sometimes with Cassie while she defended kat in the first episode, so this season because of the plot they stared putting a lot of scenes to make seen like it was that way from the beginning ☺️

oh no.. i was feeling okay until the last moment where marta went onto hallie's bed and hallie said "i get it, you can stay here as long as you want" because now i understand that they were FRIENDS FRIENDS, like beyond see-you-at-school friends or friends-because-of-circumstances, like they were there for each other and you can tell both maddie and cassie miss that. cassie's kind of on the verge of crying, but she's holding it in because the second she cries, she won't be able to stop thinking about it and maddie looks like she's about to cry too, she's looking at everything she's ever wanted but can't have anymore. i don't watch the show but lexi kind of gives me jealous vibes near the end? as if she's envious that they have each other and she's alone even though they're all in the same room.
lexi kind of has a good right to be envious when her best friend focused all her attention on drugs and Jules all the time and barely hung out with her alone

It warmed my heart seeing this scene and also seeing her stick up for Lexi when Cassie went on stage and how she fought Cassie because Cassie ruined Lexi’s play. Like you could tell the ass whooping was also because of the Nate situation but the last straw was Cassie ruining Lexi’s moment to shine
I love what Maddy was trying to say, but at the end of the day, you can tell when it’s fake confidence- BUT you could fake it till you make it
All I'm thinking is how long must it have taken to shoot these scenes, sometimes with the original cast, sometimes with the play cast, and have the original cast switch their costumes and makeup, and shooting similar scenes in both, the actual place where it happened and on this set. Lots of work and I laud the director, screenplay, production team and actors for it.
I hope next season, we see Maddy moving on from Cassie :( A betrayal like that is world quaking. Cassie saw her friend being mistreated literally always & schemed to sign herself to be next on the abuse wait-list. How do you trust that? That door scene broke my heart, man.
