- Here’s how to WIN more races in Rocket Racing as well as something you SHOULD NEVER DO!
You’ll have access to all of the 18 maps straight away so take a drive around as many as you can. Get comfortable with each track and find all of its secrets without any pressure.
Practice your acceleration at the starting line. Hit the gas just as the final green light comes on and you’ll get a MASSIVE boost that gives you a huge advantage.
Jumping helps you avoid obstacles that’ll slow you down and tapping jump gets you safely across larger gaps. Hold the jump button and you’ll literally be able to fly to higher parts of the track but it will cost you speed so use it sparingly.
Don’t just always drive on the most obvious path. Air dodges might look intimidating but they’re pretty easy to learn. Use them to find speed boosts on walls and ceilings that’ll help you get to the front of the pack.
Drifting in Rocket Racing is the BIGGEST advantage you have. Not only does drifting charge up your turbo meter but when you straighten out you’ll instantly get an EXTRA speed boost.
The longer you stay in a drift, the more your turbo bar charges up meaning you can use it more often!
But there’s one thing that’ll almost guarantee you’ll lose in Rocket Racing and you should NEVER do it!
When you activate your turbo DON’T PRESS THE TRIANGLE BUTTON again until it starts to flash. If you time it right, you’ll get a DOUBLE boosted and hit over 1000 Miles per hour. This is an OP feature so make sure you're always using it right!

Another massive tip, the best time to boost is on the sharpest corners, go on the outside on the start of the turn, drift inwards, jump, boost to cut the corner

I've heard a few people say that. Not sure why it happens to some and not others. Are you winning or placing Top 3 at all?

You should also try to drift in the straight lines to get even more boost.
Also, slipstreaming is also a thing, so try to slipstream as much as possible because it is very fast
You should be drifting in straights too, agreed 100% I think once folks figure out how to comfortably hit it into and out of corners then they'll start finding more opportunities to do it like you said

Here’s a tip that wasn’t mentioned.
In reference to the drift boost. Don’t try so hard to max that boost from the drift.
Problem is, if you stay stuck in the drift too long, that boost won’t make up for that long time you wasted drifting. You Only do this while you are using a Super boost (button press 2x). Outside of this, it is best to rely on the shorter drift bursts as they give you better overall speed vs trying for one massive burst.
Another thing. When drifting Make sure you use the drift button to help end the drift to straighten out asap. It’s easy to fall into drifting too long to where it loses more than gains.

Your starting position is fully reliant on your loading times, meaning that me on an Xbox one original always start in 10th-12th screwing me over at the start of every single race.

This will only get you to gold max. As a top 250 player myself, getting good isn't just the basics.
As long as you have good drift control, follow my tips if u actually wanna go pro: (only if your gold+)
-Drifting back + forth
-Using speedrun lines + shortcuts
-Practicing new maps multiple times
-Double drift in same direction for 180 turns
-Holding you drift button to keep drifts in the air (saves a lot of time but only use when you actually need it or you’ll just mess up more)
-boost on tight turns or extremely long straightaways
-NEVER give up! I thought silver 2 was sweaty, but look at me now! Its not actually hard to get elite+, its actually really easy. Just keep playing ranked and taking other’s shortcuts if you feel slow.

Drifting charge, what a nouvelle concept! Never seen before😅
Another thing about air dodging if you use it wisely you can skip some sections of the track and or land on the ground quicker allowing better speed you don’t want to spend too much time in the air

No don’t hit the green light. Hit it right before. Look away and listen to the red lights and hit the pattern right.

Just to let you know when Rocket Racing came out I was winning 100% of my matches 1st place it was too easy but now im trying to get out of elite 26%

I keep getting hit by other players causing me to spin out and respawn far behind

I like how it says 1,000 kph but in reality it's maybe 300 kph haha

Please help me :/ a lot of the time I maintain 3rd or 4th throughout the race but at the very end somehow end up finishing 8th-10th
I got 99% boost once and the second place person got to the finish line 10 seconds after I did 🗿
I’ve been playing it for around 1 hour and haven’t lost 1st place in a single one yet, i stick to walls when a tight turn is coming up so when i drift i won’t hit a wall

Its fun until 10,11 and 12th place triple boost past you at the end when you held perfect inside lane perfect drift first place for the entire game

I have a question I played so many times rocket league and the game always places me 12th or 11th at the start am i doing something wrong?
I've heard - unconfirmed - that it has something to do with when you load in? So PS4 and older consoles are always at the back?

It’s so much harder when you start from a bad place, every time I start in like 1st-5th I’ll get a spot in top 3, but any match I start in like 12th, the highest I’ll usually get is like 9th
I suppose just like in racing your starting position can play a huge part in where you finish!

Nah dude for some reason if I have a slower internet it just makes me go slower than someone going same speed as me not counting the fact hatcthis is useless in gold
literally, and it’s so annoying (Xbox One S, Upgrading to a PS5 soon since i already have an Xbox).. my wifi is amazing, it’s the console that’s making me slow.

@@SPLShortStories not really lagging necessarily, your console reaction time is slower.. so it all around just makes you slower, you can’t really notice it. but if you play on the newest, then you’ll feel a crazy difference. that’s why when you try to improve in games, it just stops at some point.. it’s your console blocking you from improving, people could be a pro cause a lot of people don’t know this.
Here's how I got top 2 in 60% of my matches, Quit as soon as the map is bone cavern 2 because that map sucks

The second you get until silver 3 its harder to get points not even kidding was silver 2 53% and i got 1st 1st 2nd 1st 2nd and i was only at silver 3 15% which and gold was even harder to climb through
