    Thanks for posting the menus each night. I had heard that they were not changing the menu daily- which I thought was odd- your posts have clarified that they do. It's fun to read them and I can imagine what each member of my family would be ordering. The other helpful part is when you show what you ordered - as in the coconut shrimp- my 24YO hearty eater (works out twice a day) would be sad with just 3 of his favorite appetizer shrimp- so I'll encourage him to order two, lol. On other dishes my husband and I can share!

      When we first sailed Prima, they had the non-changing menus, but they did away with those by the second time we sailed Prima. I guess for Viva, they just went with the rotating menus from the start maybe. They abandoned that static menu idea pretty quickly, it seems!! :P

    You two produce excellent vlogs. Both of you are extremely comfortable in front of the camera. In my opinion, you are the best cruise vloggers on the web, I do have one question. Have either of you had prior experience/ time before a camera?? Thanx Dick

    The band at Syd Normans seemed awesome as well as the couple singing afterwards! But no offense to the girl that sang Hearts “Alone “ song 🎵 she was good … just definitely love DEE 😁singing it way better in her karaoke songs! She should’ve been up there and did that song ! Thanks for all your videos I don’t comment much but have been enjoying them all since I found you in 2021 I’ve been traveling with you since!!

    Good stuff. I've been enjoying some of your past Carnival cruise series'. A question, do you two not like the pools/hot tubs on the ships? I've never seen either of you in one, but I have seen you in pools at land resorts, and of course in the beaches.
    Keep up the great content.

    • @parodeejay
      @parodeejay  8 місяців тому +2

      Thankee! Normally the ship pools and hot tubs are a little more crowded and/or overtaken by youth than we enjoy, but we probably hop in there maybe one out of every dozen or so ships, ha ha... most recently would be our pool adventures onboard MSC Seaside in October 2023, I would say!! :P

      @@parodeejay Awesome. That is understandable. On Carnival I like the older ships where the aft pool and hot tubs are adults only. :-) Thanks for the reply.

    Wondering if you can provide insight or clarification on the need for the immigration in St Thomas? We have sailed to St Thomas countless times, including 3 times in 2023 on NCL ships and not once was this immigration process asked of us. In fact, we are heading back in a few weeks on a princess ship so I am quite curious if this is an exception to normal ptotocol for your sailing for some reason, or if it is a new normal for sailing i to St Thomas?

    • @parodeejay
      @parodeejay  8 місяців тому +4

      Since we started in Lisbon, Portugal rather than a U.S. port, we needed to immigrate back into the country before proceeding ashore in the United States. If your cruise begins somewhere in the U.S. you would have no need for the process!! :D

    I have been to Syd Norman's on three different NCL ships. It is always my favorite show, the performers are great in every variation on each ship. I will never understand why NCL does not make the venue larger on the newer ships. Starting with the Prima, Syd Norman's could have been such an amazing entertainment space if they only made it larger. So many people were left feeling disappointed that they didn't get to see the sjow. I even suggested to NCL doing the show in the theater. Great video as always, thanks!

    • @parodeejay
      @parodeejay  8 місяців тому +3

      We were told that it's in Norwegian's contract with the group that puts the Syd Norman's show together that they want it to have an intimate atmosphere, so they're not allowed to increase the size of the venue past a certain size, or to allow to show to be performed in a large theater. Strange!!

    • @ashleys4652
      @ashleys4652 8 місяців тому

      @@parodeejay Thanks for that bit of info. I figured it was some sort of contractual thing. Yes, strange. They could easily create the same vibe but just in a bigger footprint with more seating. The performers themselves have said they would love more space to run around like they do.

    Do you guys ever go home? I guess some of us may be jealous that we can’t live our lives jumping from ship to ship. We have home responsibilities keeping us from living on a cruise ship week to week. I’m finding your postings very repetitive. Sorry if this is snarky but I’d love to enjoy just one cruise to fully enjoy.

    • @parodeejay
      @parodeejay  8 місяців тому +9

      We're nearing the end of a two-month block of time at home right now, yes! We spend most of December and January enjoying the holidays and spending time with family. We do try to spend a decent amount of time at home, even though we're able to spread the "content" out and having it running almost constantly, ha ha. I guess cruising in general could be seen as repetitive... you board a ship, look at some decor, eat some food, see some shows, visit some ports, yada yada yada. But in 2023 especially, we tried to be a un-repetitive as possible... we visited Iceland, the United Kingdom, France, The Netherlands, Belgium, Portugal, and even took a crack at getting to Greenland that didn't quite work out. For us, every adventure is new and exciting because we're seeing new places, trying new ships, etc. Our "job" has become something that we truly enjoy, and we plan to continue for as long as we're able!! :D ~Jay

    Is that immigration process something newer? Or is it specific to norwegian? I have sailed to st thomas before as a canadian and was able to get off the ship instantly without issue, but it was a number of years ago and also on a different brand of cruise. Wondering if it's a new process, or something to do with the cruise line I was on that time.
