- An artist inspired by nature and plants, Beci Orpin’s work as an illustrator and designer reflects her life as a “city girl”. Subscribe 🔔 ab.co/GA-subscribe
There is a patch of garden hidden behind her studio, which she calls her Hidden Garden, and she finds having it there provides a great space to have a break as well as a source of inspiration.
The walls were already covered in graffiti when she moved in and, while murals area part of her work, she loves the graffiti and won’t be covering it. “It makes it feel like a ruin,” she says, adding she likes the contrast with the flowers and colours.

Wish more urban areas in Melbourne had small gardens. It would help people feel not so isolated and depressed. 😊
What a beautiful space
It's a "beautiful" garden...luv it❤
I'm so inspired by this. Absolutely love it, thank you for sharing your secret garden Beci! (love your art too!)
Greetings from the United States of America.
I love the way you plant your garden .
Prairie style gardens are not only for contemplation, they really serve a purpose to pollinators and birds .
I love to see plants that I have growing here in my garden .
Joe pye weed , Rudbeckia Maxima a must have , echinaceas , only grew once Angelica gigas the dark variety, all of them go really good along with grasses , little blue stem , big blue stem , Indian grass , Indian sea oats ,etc .
Enjoy your garden !
Blessings
Thanks for watching!
A Very Special place.
They've done a fantastic job creating a beautiful garden!
I prefer a basic vegetable and fruit garden for obvious reasons especially with everything being extremely expensive but I really do appreciate what they've done in Brunswick of all places, kudos to them both.
Great video guys.
Really nice different space and love the idea of using our local grasses. I'm trying something similar with a smaller bush tucker section (I concentrate mostly on food growing in the Perth area- dry and hot)
Gorgeous story! A friend of ours goes to a community garden between Therry and The Vic Market, for those who don't have garden space at home! 😊
