- Join me on my BIGGEST adventure so far as I climb to the top of BEN NEVIS, the TALLEST mountain in the United Kingdom! I head to Fort William in Scotland to take on the biggest challenge of my life, climbing 1,345 metres to the highest point anywhere in the British Isles. In this vlog I share my journey along the mountain path route including some of the best scenery I've ever seen!

Amazing! And think of the people that laid that stone path.... that was a feat in itself. Thanks for this wonderful adventure!
Watched your channel theme park world wide for a long time. I run my own outdoor channel & this is just massively inspiring. I climbed this mountain with my dad who sadly passed a few years ago, after watching this I’m heading back to climb it again in his memory. Thanks Shawn 💚
Thank you!
Hi Sean I have just done Ben Nevis with my family this weekend. The only thing that kept me motivated was after watching your video you were so motivating and believing it helped me massively thank you so much ❤
hello from usa!! i've always wondered what the tallest point is in the UK now i know! i've watched many many videos on ADVENTURE SHAWN this one is easily my most favorite one of all of them! watching the ascent to the top , the look around , the descent back down! all the views , simply spectacular from the beginning of your journey to the end! 8 + hours worth! mother nature at her finest! also the soundtrack you chose to use , adds to the magic of this outstanding video! your channel never disappoints sir!! love it so much!!!
Thank you very much!
Only just got around to watching this......was incredible. The views were breathtaking. Congratulations Shawn, am thrilled for you. 🥾🚶♂️
Thank you!
Amazing job! Congratulations! That was inspiring. Thank you for sharing that adventure with us.
Thanks for watching my latest adventure!
Hey Shawn, the feeling you're describing is one of the main reasons I love going hiking. You don't always have to climb a whole mountain to get fantastic views. I can only tell from hiking here in Germany, but there are so many fantastic hiking trails out there!
If one day you would like to do something like this in Germany (maybe combined with visiting Phantasialand) I would be more than happy to help you planning and giving you some advise what to do here 😄
Thank you, it was such an incredible experience!
Glad you're up for more hiking adventures! Like you I love theme parks and coasters, but think I love being in the nature even more. I can only recommand you to go hiking, kayaking, biking all around, that's where I feel the most alive. And Scotland is actually one of the best places I've been to do these things. Head to Skye, Torridon, Assynt and you won't regret it!
Thank you for your suggestions!
Really got a sense of what the trail was like. I’ll be doing that next May and found it useful. Thanks so much for that 🇮🇪
I've been mountain climbing for my first time last year in the alps and I absolutely fell in love with it.
Glad to see you having so much fun doing it as well :D
Me too! Chamonix perhaps? I went a couple years ago and it was amazing. Great way to get a clear head too!
@@TaryllBaker no oberstdorf on the German/Austrian border. The mountains around this area are around 2km in height. Still an absolutely breathtaking scenery.
It was great fun, but challenging!
I've been watching your videos for quite a while now...and i have to say this is the first one that prompted me to comment. Not only are you as good as but, in a lot of cases, better than professional presenters. No matter what you're doing, its never boring. And this time, i think its the effect your adventure had on you personally that really drew me in. If the BBC or the Travel Channel doesn't contact you to give you your own travel series, they are insane. Good luck with all your adventures to come. I think you just leveled up. ;)
Thank you very much!
Congratulations on climbing Ben Nevis.
Wonderful video!
Thank you!
Great accomplishment Shawn. I walked the West Highland Way when I was 18 which culminates with Ben Nevis. Congratulations 👏 👏 👏
Thanks for watching
Hey there Shawn I love both of your channels I love you Shawn so much and wonderful Charlotte xx
Thank you!
Great to see you enjoying the tallest mountain in the UK, quality filming and especially your inspiring concluding summary...best of luck on your further adventures! Of course we enjoy your theme park content but it's brilliant to see some more varied expeditions and long may it continue. Thank you for the past 8 years or so ~ your success on UA-cam really is testimony to following through on a vision and many people, whatever their age, myself included, find your content and vlogs brighten our day a little and give a welcome distraction to life with all its ups and downs. Keep following your dreams, keep positive no matter what and best wishes for the future to yourself and Charlotte.
Thank you very much!
Well done! 🙌🏻 👌🏻 💖 ✨ I live in Scotland 🏴 and haven't been to Fort William yet, let alone Ben Nevis but it's making me absolutely itching to get out there and give it a go! 💪🏻 The views are breathtaking! Like Wow! breathtaking and all the Waterfalls and streams, too! Beautiful! 😍 Thank you so much for sharing your journey, as loved every minute of this! 🤗 I got quite emotional for you as really felt what an epic experience this was. Thank you so much!
Well done Shawn, I was at Fort William on a boat cruise just last week and I could see Ben Nevis in the distance. It was a clear day and I could see the entire mountain and to see you complete the challenge has made my Scotland holiday complete. Thank you. Cheers, Mark.
Thanks for watching Mark
I done Snowdon twice last weekend.... looking at Ben Nevis next year.
Congratulations Shawn!

My favourite video in this series

Good Blog - challenged yourself with this one - good exercise - well done.
It was great fun and well worth it!
Congratulations Shawn. What a brilliant achievement for you. It's no mean feat walking for all those hours especially up and down hill. You must be so pleased to have managed to reach the summit. One of the best videos you have ever made. Keep up the adventures.
Thank you very much!
Your enthusiasm is infectious Shawn!
Thanks Chris!
@@TheSanbrookeAdventures Do you have any bad days?
Excellent video well all your adventure videos are awesome ❤ well done for walking up Ben nevis it’s hard am doing that this summer hopefully fingers crossed your full of so much energy love to go walking you on these mountain keep your ideas coming lad 😊you should do mount snowdon trust me it’s absolutely amazing
Thank you so much!
Congratulations on a big achievement. Those views are spectacular... Well done again... Great video
Thank you very much!
Your a good bloke Shawn . Well done pal 👍
I'm having an asthma attack and you're just ten minutes in showing us the view!!! Well done you!
You get about more then me!
Well Done Shawn! As a long time follower of TPW who also loves hiking & hill walking this was great to watch! You did the right thing bringing a map & compass as well as some extra layers because you never know what could happen so well done for doing a bit of research!
If you do want to try some more mountains the best way to help your knees on the descent is a pair of anti shock walking poles, as well as some proper hiking boots. You don’t have to spend thousands of pounds as even some cheaper ones are better than nothing if you’re just starting out! And instead of jeans I’d wear something that drys a little quicker incase you get caught in some unexpected rainfall (pretty common in Scotland).
Another popular mountain to climb up here is Ben Lomond which gives great views of Loch Lomond & the mountains beyond on a clear day. Its only an hours drive from Glasgow so it’s easy to reach & well worth a visit.
Hope to see you out on the hills some day enjoying our stunning country! 🏴
Thank you for sharing these suggestions!
Scottish Mountian Rescue would find this video absolutely Amazing.!!!
Thank you for this video! I am planning on climbing Ben Nevis although I think it may have to wait till next year, as I am not experienced with the winter conditions. I haven't seen such a detailed video before of the mountain path, I am so glad I came across yours! 😀
Thank you for watching!
I did not know you were into this kinda thing Shaun. Well done. If ya ever want to do Beinn Ime which is the highest munro in the Arrochar Alps give me a holler. Its a fantastic Hike.

Good achievement! I'd like to one day see TPW do the Three Peaks in under 24 hours challenge!

AdventuresShawn I follow you with great pleasure, I must tell you that you demonstrate not only great intelligence and ability, but also great sensitivity towards people and places, which you know how to fully and deeply appreciate, demonstrating in your vlogs true human qualities that you always know how to put into action with your special explosive enthusiasm. You are really very good! I send you my special success wishes which I only send to special people like you. Sending everyone my AdventuresShawn - goodbye! Federico Farneti of Rimini, Italy
I cant believe how you went up so unprepared, fair play 😂

You mean you walked up the path always makes me laugh when people say climbed 😂
I guess that’s just how most people describe it!
Great video and experience! Out of interest was this filmed on a weekday or weekend?
This was filmed on a weekday
How did you do the walk without talking to anyone, did you listen to music or something, I like to listen to music motivates me haha! Well done though
I chatted with quite a few people on the way up and down!
AdventureShawn awh awesome!, I really want to do it but I barely do my small mountains by me haha
Good v log
Thanks!
4:28 why are the sheep bloody? A fox or perhaps a wolf bite them?
Possibly so
@@TheSanbrookeAdventures
So did you help them? The injured sheep I mean.
I climbed this in 2000 when I was in the army with a massive hangover 🤣 never thought I'd do it... didn't help there was a dead sheep on the way up that stunk made me throw up lolz.
That doesn’t sound good at all, however at least you completed the climb!
@@TheSanbrookeAdventures it's an great experience though, this video brought back some memories... glad u made it to the top 👍🏼
I did a climb in Westendorf, Austria. We took a skyway up to the top and then did a trail that had side stuff for kids. The roughest/steapest part was the final approach to the top, where you have a cross and have a book you can sign. There are two longer, more difficult trails off there as well. It is a skiing area in winter.
I also mention the Hintertux Glacier in the video as well
Try snowdon?
I’ll have to at some point!
Mate, what trial did you take?
The mountain path
@@TheSanbrookeAdventures thanks mate.
Shedding a few tears Sean
Shawn returned home with a 6 pack
I did this walk once long ago as the crow flies. Awesome job.
Wow Shawn amazing footage epic adventure. Did you record your steps (not that your fat ) but I bet that kills off lock down weight lol
40,000 steps!
Next stop Everest
Is your dad keith chegwin
He’s my uncle!
Do we know what's happening with the investigation and screen shots etc?
The police investigation has now closed & no further legal action has been required.
Bag some Munros !
This is amazing! The editing, all the different shots, the music, everything was just amazing! Who would’ve known that watching someone climb a mountain could be so entertaining!! Keep up the good work!
Thank you very much!
I guess Im asking the wrong place but does anyone know of a way to log back into an Instagram account??
I stupidly forgot my login password. I love any help you can offer me.
@Malachi Braydon Instablaster :)
@Augustus Michael thanks for your reply. I found the site on google and Im in the hacking process atm.
Takes a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
@Augustus Michael It did the trick and I finally got access to my account again. Im so happy!
Thank you so much, you saved my account :D
Wow, how amazing , loved watching this . What a big achievement well done Shawn, very well done 👏 😁
Thank you so much!
The mountain with its head in the clouds, Ford put a model t on top of Ben Nevis as a promotion, it’s lovely mountain! I’ve done snowden and scafell pike so I’ve just got to find the time to get up to Nevis to complete the set
Seems like Nevis is at the worlds end hahahaha. I live in the North and it still takes me 6 hours to get up there hahahaha
My mum did all of them and Ben nevis
Just finished snowdon yesterday and absolutely loved it, would you recommend scafell pike?
Shawn i think you should be sponsored by Hollister, by now it's your trademark outfit!
Well done Shawn! I bet you were buzzing when you reached to top 😊
Thanks, I was indeed!
Amazing Sean, you go the extra mile for us...literally!!! Brilliant vlog usual my friend 🔥
Thank you Robert, such an incredible experience!
Such an amazing achievement especially when you had no training or special walking equipment lol !! Most people who do professional walking spend £1000’s on walking gear and you went up in trainers, jeans and a hoodie lol 👍🏻👍🏻
Hi coaster crazy I watch your vids and am subscribed
I think it's with most sports, the most important thing is the footwear and well.. Your own body.
I think shawn could have at least bought some hiking shoes :D
Yep which is exactly why the mountain rescue get called.
Stop it andy. Its an easy climb. No special equipment needed other than feet and trainers lol
Lee Webster wow I bet you are fun at parties ..
Watching this makes me feel short of breath 😂😂
Maybe wear the correct clothing/bring the right equipment next time... It's pretty irresponsible to go up how you did- if the weather had taken a turn you'd have been in a very dangerous situation. And don't get me started on your footwear.... I am involved in mountain rescue and the last thing we want is people putting extra pressure on our services. You are a role model to lots of people so we don't want you to give out the wrong message - we would love your subscribers to come out and enjoy the mountains we just need them to do it in a safe way by wearing the correct clothing and carrying suitable equipment.
Well done on your achievement though
Well said mate. Fair play to Shawn for the walk, it's no easy feat but things can go very wrong quite quickly. That's a long way to walk with a sprained ankle because of unsuitable footwear!
Thanks for your feedback and suggestions!
Just to say walking in trainers up Ben Nevis, or any mountain should not be attempted in trainers.
They do not give adequate support to the feet and ankles.
I’ll definitely look into some better footwear for future climbs, however I managed quite well considering!
Congratulations on reaching the summit, now what about taking on the three peaks challenge, climbing the three tallest mountains in the Uk. Ben Nevis (Scotland) Scarfell pike (England) and Mount Snowdon (Wales) all within 24 Hours.😉👍
Done it a few times. first when I was about 10 and last when I was 15. I only saw the view once from the top, other times it was cloudy. You should do the walk up Mt Snowdon and then treat yourself to the train on the way down ;)
Thank you!
AWESOMENESS, Ive done Snowdon a few times, never done Ben Nevis tho. On my to do list. New subscriber, ace channel. Would you be interested in doing a video colab at all ? 👍
Thank you and welcome!
well done shawn mate
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! You did it!!! This is one of my favorite videos. You gotta come to Ca & check out Sequoia & Yosemite. Those are my playgrounds lol. I love how you kept going even when it was tough & even when you wanted to go back. You pushed forward and did it. Keep being amazing & awesome.
Thanks for watching!
Kings Canyon is also stunning. Used to live 30 mins from there.
An absolutely amazing video really really enjoyed it and your enthusiasm as always on both your channels is so good to hear and see and also that your so pleased with yourself for achieving your goal that took such a great effort but you made it and yes those views were just so wonderful and that waterfall was great to see also. I climbed a few mountains myself when I was younger and it bought back some good memories to so ty for that 😎👍🥳😎
Thank you Paul
Great video mate!!! Doing it in trainers was brave haha.
It was challenging indeed!
YESS SHAWN! WELL DONE MY MATE ❤❤
You’re living the life. This was awesome. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for watching my latest adventure!
Hey Shawn, me and my dad have climbed up Ben Nevis for the 1st time today it was amazing, struggled with the last part uphill and coming down was hard too we did it in about 8hours altogether absolutely great day 😃
Glad you had a good time!
Well done Shawn,
I climbed Ben Nevis years ago and cooked on top of there in the hut.
Great achievement!
Keep up all the great work you do.
It sure is awesome! Thanks for watching
