There is no way you could know how much this Old Trucker enjoyed your coverage of this "down home" truck show. Thanks for all you do Mike to be such a great ambassador of the Trucking Industry.
I got to drive my very first Mack truck this past summer.. about 5 miles in a old 90s Mack COE.. hauling water for the owners cows.. made me miss trucking bad..
Sounds like a MH Ultraliner which was one of my favorite trucks to drive when I started out. In a few days I'll have a new video featuring one actually.
I think that's the same guy. He had a green 359 with a flattop 63" bunk painted with a leprechaun theme, it was on the cover of American Trucker in the 80's. He sold it and bought a green 379 with a Double Eagle.
From the 50’s 60’s and 70’s. Did the Autocar and Mack dealers of Mass. run with the slogan, “you can have any color of truck you want as long as it’s Red, Black or Red and Black together”
See why I Say you have the best content you took me to a cool truck show I Never heard of You also showed me the "local" truck shows Like This Are The Place To Search Out For People Who Love Trucks "Share it with my friends" you bet I will all 115 000 of them
Great video, Mike! I loved seeing all those people. And trucks. Especially the B-81s. Caruso's gets the blue ribbon in my opinion but there were several others, including Loiselle's, that were really close. I drove a B-81 dump truck for Earl Hupper from Wilmington in the early eighties. No power steering. I learned real quick to keep all my fingers, including thumbs, on the outside of the steering wheel. Those things are beasts!
Lovin' those Bulldogs and Huskys, ( Macks and Brockways to you laymen), AND the Autocar DC! However, I think it is sacrilege to put Budd wheels on your steer axle and Daytons on your drivers. Make up your mind. IMHO, Macks look better with Daytons.
Great video Mike! I really like the artistry on the doors of the old rig...just beautiful. I've also developed quite a fondness for pinstripe. Very tastefully done on these rigs. (I guess like...a tattoo for the truck?). It's quite obvious these wonderful folks take great pride in their ride. Thanks for having us along.
Great video. The two cousins were entertaining to listen to. Pure NewEngland blue collar speak. I agree. New trucks and the emission bullshit sound like crap.
I really miss those vent windows/smoker windows. My fathers old f150 had them and they did much better at cooling off a moving vehicle than rolling the main window down. Wish they’d put them back into a lot of these trucks since a/c is almost always the first thing to go in them.
I wish I could come up there for a real truck show! The only truck shows I get to go to only have newer trucks and they're always Pete's and kws not that I have a problem with them but it's always nice to see the older macks and autocars
I would love more interviews with the timers that drove the LTL macks. My dad had 2 of them. I think they are classy looking truck. He had a 54 and 52.
Love the old brockway trucks and the sound of detroit diesels..

Thank you Cornelius!
Worked with a Pat Flaherty that had a green 359 with a big Double Eagle sleeper. Worked out of Chicago with him at R.F.X.

Absolutely great coverage as always the two guys you were talking to were funny sadly back to work 😂
Thanks Mark! I need some more time with them!
Hello
I love the Shea GMC. Many of my family were GM employees and when in the trucking business they had GMC trucks. I’d love to find a fat cab.
That's really cool that your family worked for GMC.
@@TheBostonTrucker They worked for GM New Departure Bearings in Connecticut, not at a truck plant. It was just that they wouldn’t buy anything but GM.

Some very nice trucks at the show.

Hello
Ever hear of Lawrence Lynch? They did a lot of work on Nantucket back in the 70's. They had a fleet of nice old yellow Autocars.
You"ll have to do another interview with the two guys in the pickup! lol
Each of them on their own probably forgot more stuff about the local trucking scene than I'll ever know.
@@TheBostonTrucker I agree! I really enjoyed them!

Cool!!
👋
i notice not many of these trucks don't have any dot or icc numbers on the door, i thought all commercial trucks were required to do so
I suppose if they were rebuilt and not used commercially then maybe not.
Mike going old school 👍
Haha yes, I'm always old school in my heart!
