Nice to see you again Chris. That Hama Star 61 was my first tripod too. Bought mine from Amazon for 20 quid. Amazon still sell them. It fell apart over the years. I now use a K&F aluminium tripod which cost me around £50. For the money it's really great. I also have a couple of their filters which also work well and are cheap.
Thanks for the comment I had never heard of K&F and was a surprise by the email. But wow looks like a great phototherapy store. The Amazon site is very good and with prime it’s a win win. Yeah the star tripod well what can I say.

Hi Chris, good to see you again, the first tripod I bought was a Slik 88 bought from Jessops Hinkley Rd early 80s. still got it, but not used any longer! amazing what you get excited about!
The good old days. I remember Jessops and that shop was big. With the developing labs and the video department I got my first DSLR from there. 2009. Where has the time the gone. Thanks for the memories. Chris.
Good to see you back on the Tube Chris, can't believe you showed that 1st ever tripod, as it's the exact 1st tripod I bought, with that handle you turn to extend the middle column, like winding up a window on an old car, mines like brand new still think I used it 3 or 4 times until i realised i shouldn't be seen in public with it seeing I got mine 10 years ago.... I've tried to throw it away, but something stops me every time, sentiments I'm guessing ha ha ha ha. Looking forward to future vids Pal!!

Must admit I was a bit skeptical about K & F ring used to Manfrotto. But just purchased a K & F and am blown away by it

I had a similar one as my first but a Vanguard model, came with a video camera too but in 2003, bought the camera used for £60 from Cash Generator and the tripod plus a very nice Antler bag cams with it.

@@cppuk was at the time but just stuck on a shelf now, two of them, a Sanyo and a Samsung, basically the same camera
@@bcegerton I’m looking for 8mm camcorder I had the sanyo but I went to use it the other day and it not working anymore everything jumping around on the screen and the playback button s like I’ve just put a black tape in.
@@cppuk That’s not good, could sell one of mine but will check they are ok first. That K&F tripod, do you reckon it’s worth getting? Not via your Amazon link though as it’s £114.99 then - £6 but it’s only £77.69 on their website 😂 I bought a Vanguard one but it’s just too heavy, even though it’s only 1.4kg, long too. I’m registered disabled and 400g means a lot
@@bcegerton Brian what is your camera setup. I use Fujifilm and took some beautiful long exposure photo just this weekend video coming soon. I had the 10-24on the x-t4 with the lee filter setup.
