Scald Cop Mine (Coniston): dangerous mine

We were advised not to go into this mine by an experienced mine explorer, "jagged Rock are hanging from the ceiling, it's a medieval mine", he wasn't wrong, this is a very old mine, pre-dates the nearby Moss Head Mine complex below, the original entrance is blocked but look hard enough and you can find an alternative way in, you drop down, but are soon presented with the 'loose hanging jaggy rocks' above, we got passed these to explore deep into this interesting but dangerous cave.
