Of all the things I've believed in I just want to get it over with Tears from behind my eyes, but I do not cry Counting the days pass me by I've been searchin' deep down in my soul Words that I'm hearin' are starting to get old It feels like I'm startin' all over again The last three years were just pretend And I said Goodbye to you Goodbye to everything that I knew You were the one I loved The one thing that I tried to hold on to I still get lost in your eyes And it seems that I can't live a day without you Closin' my eyes, and you chase my thoughts away To a place where I am blinded by the light But it's not right Goodbye to you Goodbye to everything that I knew You were the one I loved The one thing that I tried to hold on to And it hurts to want everything And nothin' at the same time I want what's yours, and I want what's mine I want you, but I'm not givin' in this time Goodbye to you Goodbye to everything that I knew You were the one I loved The one thing that I tried to hold on to The one thing that I tried to hold on to Goodbye to you Goodbye to everything I thought I knew You were the one I loved
I haven’t listened to this song since middle school but it’s still so powerful how it resonates. This, for me, was a shift in the show. Buffy relied so much on her friends and loved ones but now the family has splintered off at the exact time she needs them the most. She seeks comfort in Spike because she doesn’t need to wear a mask of happiness around him. She can just be hurt and damaged. Willow and Tara’s breakup devastates Dawn because she knows she can’t rely on Buffy as she’s always distant and not really present. Willow without the love of Tara to anchor her casts her adrift. Xander and Anya are around but they’re focused on their upcoming nuptials. And Giles, the surrogate father leaves which signals they need to all stand on their own two feet. Yet without his guidance and care, they all succumb to their worst impulses.

Here crying in 2023😢 real men cry!
I felt sad watching this then cried coz giles was on a plane back to England and we don’t see him until the end of season six
This video breaks my heart every time I see it but I love the song so much
Love this whole series!!!❤
Forever imprinted upon my teenage heart ♥ 💜 ❤ 😭
Not a Michelle Branch fan BUT this song, specifically this version, freaking amazing!
How?
@@num1Jaystahow what?
@@jw6948 How are you not a fan
@@num1Jaystaat that time-when she came out-I felt like they were really pushing her on us. I was in college and worked at a record store, and we played her constantly. I do think time has softened my opinion of her music tho.
Damn good scene.
Michelles 😍😍
Of all the things I've believed in
I just want to get it over with
Tears from behind my eyes, but I do not cry
Counting the days pass me by
I've been searchin' deep down in my soul
Words that I'm hearin' are starting to get old
It feels like I'm startin' all over again
The last three years were just pretend
And I said
Goodbye to you
Goodbye to everything that I knew
You were the one I loved
The one thing that I tried to hold on to
I still get lost in your eyes
And it seems that I can't live a day without you
Closin' my eyes, and you chase my thoughts away
To a place where I am blinded by the light
But it's not right
Goodbye to you
Goodbye to everything that I knew
You were the one I loved
The one thing that I tried to hold on to
And it hurts to want everything
And nothin' at the same time
I want what's yours, and I want what's mine
I want you, but I'm not givin' in this time
Goodbye to you
Goodbye to everything that I knew
You were the one I loved
The one thing that I tried to hold on to
The one thing that I tried to hold on to
Goodbye to you
Goodbye to everything I thought I knew
You were the one I loved
Here in 2023! Took me a long time before I realized this version wasn’t the original. It’s better.
I love this show and Buffy ❤❤❤❤❤❤
My favorite ❤️ #2023
Best show ever
2023 and still a classic
A still get tears when tara moves out 😓😭
I haven’t listened to this song since middle school but it’s still so powerful how it resonates.
