For some reason I can’t wrap my head around accessing and organization of the Nord sound libraries. I enjoy the organization of the Korg Menus. I also love the ability to program the Kronos in a linear fashion for gigs. To be able to step through each preprogrammed patch is amazing.
You can easily organize sounds in a linear fashion on the Stage 3 as well (in Song mode). I’ve done full conserts using this functionality on the Stage 3.
To me, the Nord sounded fantastic, especially those pianos. I love Korg gear but that Kronos just sounds like another upgraded M1 variation - drum kits, choirs, a bit of this and that, etc..
The Nord seems to be more popular as a live keyboard. The Kronos pretty much does everything tho, and there is a huge market of free and paid sounds for it.
I wonder what the Nord is like for quality build compared to Korg, and how would one get it serviced? Korg is all over the USA, Nord is a little harder to find. What is your opinion of each? Which would you prefer to play? Which keyboard feels better to play? Which would you prefer to play? Which is easier to program or change sounds on the fly? Which has more expandability for sounds?
Nord feels better built, better keys, easier to quickly tweak sounds. Korg is easier to navigate through sounds, and is overall more powerful, with a wider selection of sounds. They compliment each other pretty well to be honest. If all you need is pianos, eps, and organs, then the Nord is probably a great choice. If you want all of that and a wide variety of other sounds like strings, synths, flutes, brass, bass, etc. I'd say Korg would be a better choice as it has more of those types of sounds in addition to the keyboard sounds.
It is kind of hard to decide between this two based on presets. Nord is a great keyboard for live playing but it is not half the workstation kronos is. In kronos you can edit the piano sounds in every way you can imagine, with 9 sound engines you can creat any imaginable sound, from analogue to FM, in combi mode, you can combine up to 16 sounds, a powerful sequencer, more than 2,000 presets, sampling mode, you can smple any sound, then turn it into a program, 12 insert efectos, 2 master and 2 total effects, man!!!! You cannot compare these machines!!! Don’t get me wrong, Nord is a great keyboard, but is a stage keyboard, ready to play but korg kronos is a workstation, and I dare to say that todate there is not any other better than this one. There is a video called kronos vs Nord blind test, where the pianos are compared and you can’t tell which piano is been played, search for it.
The question is if you need all that. Sometimes less is more - more room to focus on what you're actually doing. See the concept of Leica for photography, It's basically the same. All Sony cameras instead come with 20+ assignable buttons - I could never handle that and it would distract me. Coming back to the instruments, I find the Stage the most thought-through keyboard on the market. While I always loved the Yamaha Motifs - simply beasts in their time.
before purchasing, did you do a comparison with how the keys feel between the Stage 3 Compact vs. the HP76? i've been reading that the keys on the HP76 are very loud when playing. how does the Compact feel/sound?
I own the HP76 and the hammer weighted keys are not loud in my opinion. Actually the keys on my Korg Krome synth weighted keys are louder than the Hp76.
I love my Nord Stage 3, it just sounds extremely warm and organic.
Nice!
Yeah I do agree it’s very organic, “earthy”sounding…
What's up St Joe, another 🔥 review thanks. 👍🏿
Thanks for checking fam!
Epic comparison. I love it all the way. Great job
. I use korg kronos....
Thanks for watching!

The Korg menu system is definitely a plus when looking for sounds.

yup Korg for me, Kronos my dream keyboard love it!

Agreed. The Kronos sounds like a rompler but not a high end one like Omnisphere or Keyscape.

Yeah for sure! It really depends on what you're looking for. I'm not a live player so for me I'm just looking for good sounds and flexible workflow.
Nice style of presentation - well done -----
Thanks for watching!
Both great. But I love the Korg Kronos.
Thanks for watching!
The korg kronos sounds 🔥 crazy amazing...
Thanks for watching!
Something about the Nord Keyboards which makes the sounds, sound like a record. Just very expensive.
Thanks for checkin bro!
Great Comperison. Great Video.
Thanks for watching!
When did you pick up the Korg Kronos and Nord Stage 3? Do you still have the new Roland Fantom?
Got them in a few months ago, just checking them out for now. No longer have the Fantom.
Never seen any play this long and never touch a black key, interesting
and?
It's easy to do, play something in C major or A minor key.
interesting skill

Yep, very different beasts, but both have things I like. Nord is very immediate, Kronos is super flexible.

I really like the stage pianos as well. Very different instruments for sure.
Impressive! Nord is the great Synth, and Korg Kronos. Greetings!
Thanks for watching

I have not tried the 76, keys on the compact feel fine to me though

Nord the Best!! 👏
Thanks for watching.
Korg to me is jack of all trades master of none. The sounds just aren't amazing, but there is a ton of them.
Thanks for watching.
Which is more user friendly according to you?
The Nord is a more straight forward instrument imo.
Totally different workflow, i prefer kronos because it also makes a perfect mainstage controller..
Cool, thanks for watching.
Are they keys weighted similar?
Not imo, both have their own feel
I really love the korg kronos alot i feel like getting one
Nice!
The Nord sounds open and wide while the Kronos sounds boxed in some how... 🤷
Thanks for watching
The Nord is FLAMES. SMH!
Hahahaha, thanks for checking fam!
For me Nord won hands down.
Thanks for watching!
