Hair Transplant Update: I Got My Stitches Removed + 6 Month Update & 1 Year Anniversary - Episode 3

- Welcome to episode 3 of #MyHairTransplantJourney (#HairGrowthWithTerri).
PART 1- 14- Day Update + My Suture (Stitches) Removal (Was it painful or nah?)(0:25)
The first 7 days were rough. I experienced extreme pain but it wasn’t bad enough for me to regret it. I also have a high tolerance for pain so I don’t know. lol
Some advice the doctor gave me during my 14-day check up:
-No sun on my hair
-No oils on my hair
-No wigs for at least a year!
Below are actions you CAN take to stimulate hair growth after the 2 week mark:
-Do use Rogaine (I decided not to use it because my schedule is busy and I could’t commit to this daily)
-Do wear a hat as opposed to a wig. You can also wear a bandana and head wraps.
-Remove the scabs in the recipient hair within a month of the surgery
- Hair will shed when you massage the recipient area, that’s ok!- I ended up lying face up in the tub with my head submerged in the water, in order to soak my scabs.
See what my incision looks like at day 14 here (9:24)

All I can say is WOW! Them edges on fleek now! I need to get this done ASAP!
Yasss! Thank you so much :)
@The right to be righteous It sounds like she's in California?

Omg it looks awesome! I’m so considering getting one but I’m so scared and it’s very costly. But I really need it. Same story as you with the hair loss and same spots missing hair. Thanks for sharing and being so transparent.
Go! I’m going Wednesday. I too watched video after video & it’s been 3 years. You watched this 10 months ago imagine the growth you’d have by now. Wishing you luck on your journey 💛
How much was the cost?
I got mine Jan. 20th
omg I watched all 3, thanks so much for sharing your journey, I'm seriously considering one
Thank you so much for watching. :)
Your transplant is popping! I appreciate your being so thoughtful and thorough I am right there with you in this experience -hard to do with just video !
It goes without saying that your face is beautiful so you have a lot of room when it comes to your hair . Your hairline is immaculate the dr must have really listened or been quite knowledgeable framing your face ! Sending you love and happiness. I am psyched for you !
What an amazing transformation! Your hair looks so beautiful. Thanks for sharing!!! I’m looking into getting a hair transplant as well for my edges and it’s so hard to find videos of the actual transplant be done as well as other Women’s journey. Your video was very informative, thank you 😊.

I just started crying and idk why

Amazing transformation.
Thank you sooooooo much!
Found your videos through your blog post. Thank you for these videos. Gives a lot of hope!
no wigs for a year 😭
Looks good girl!! I'm on post op week 3 with my FUT transplant. I still have some numbing. You didn't talk about when yours went away! When did it fade away?
I’m 4 months post-op, and I've noticed the numbing subside by month 3. It's still a tad numb, but each month it gets better.
@@ajaye4484 thank you!! I'm now 2 months. Still lil numbing. When did you start seeing your transplant area hair start to grow?
Beautiful! Im next!💕
You go girl with your high bun. Thank you for sharing. You look great
Nice transformation 👍 I would like to get this done but not gonna lie, the creative hairstyling to cover the edges and crown in between time is challenging to grasp.
Ahhh yes! That part was very challenging. I will say, it's been nearly two years and I'm SO happy I went through it. :)
Terri, that's an awesome result and you look beautiful. Greetings from Sydney, Australia :)
Thank you so much. :)
Phenomenal results; congrats!
Thank you! :)
Your videos are very helpful. I'm less nervous about getting it now. Thank you!
Great results! Very happy for you
Thank you SO much! :)
Oh wow- I'm surprised you were allowed to cover your head 2 weeks after surgery. No wigs for an entire year- thank you. I'll be listening to this advice...
I went to natural hair transplant I wish I would’ve went to your doctor. My results are good but I have to go back for a 2nd time
I just came across your Channel and your results looks amazing I cannot wait to go get my hair done
You are very attractive, I am hoping it will all go well.
Never feel bad about yourself.
You are well spoken, beautiful woman
Results are stunning. 🙏
Aww thank you so much!
How much did they charge you?
Where did you have this done? Looks great!
WOW .... great results. I’m going to research a UK 🇬🇧 hair transplant surgeon.
Natural hair transplants in Fortlauderdale Florida. I’ve seen soooooooooo many great results. I’m going next month, can’t wait.
SoniaJR Go to Turkey. Way cheaper
Can you make another video combing through the recipient hair like the first one? So we can see the difference?
Thanks for sharing !! You’re looks amazing ❤️
You are so welcome! Thank you so much :)
You are stunning! Thanks for sharing 🙏
So happy u made this video as I too have thinning edges & hairline due to extremely tight braids as a child & for glued dwn and sewn in tracks...it’s been 10 looooooooonnng yrs for myself as well & cant wait for the chance to have this procedure done on myself!!!! Is the cost over 10grand if u don’t mind sharing?
Hello Terri.
First and foremost, thank you for the detailed video. It was very informative.
Secondly, I’m two months post-op from getting the FUT procedure, and I noticed one side is growing faster than the other.
Did you have the same experience, and if so, did you notice the side that wasn't growing as fast was the side you slept on the most?
Lastly, did you ever use the Rogaine recommended? If so, how long after getting the procedure did you start using it, and are you still using it? Thank you in advance, and congrats on your bundle of joy🥰
Beautiful! How much did he charge you?
Right we can’t ever get the prices!! Why?
Very informative! Great results!! Where is your doctor's office located?
Thank you! Here ya go: www.mhtaclinic.com/
Money well spent. Thank you for sharing this option.
See we know how to take care of business. You look great.
I'm new to your channel, so please excuse me for asking a question you may have already answered. I'm a black woman that suffers from traction alopecia and wants to know the name of your doctor. I love the results. Thank you. You are beautiful and give me hope
Hey Terry, I don't have any hair loss but I had a small hair transplant procedure, FUT, 5 days ago to align my forehead, what a process! lol
Are u currently taking any hair growth supplements? And by the way, you look absolutely gorgeous, amazing!
Hey there! Thank you so much. Good luck with your hair transplant process. I'm not taking any supplements at this time but I've entertained the idea of using Rogaine again to keep my hair thick and full. We'll see if I get around to it. lol
My polite advice, please stay away from Rogaine or any product containing Minoxidil. The health risks, short term and long term, overweights the benefits not to mention the "hair dependency" aspect of it. I'm a healthcare professional, trust me, this crap ain't worth it. I will try and and see if I can send you some great natural stuff that work wonders on you.
Oh wow! Thanks so much for sharing. I look forward to seeing your natural recommendations. :)
Do you mind if we text each other instead of writing here?
@@abedbecky Ahh, I see what you did. You smooth rascal, you... :)
How much is the dream girls procedure. I asked them the cost because I wanted to know if I should waste my time traveling to them but they didn't respond.
Thank you TerriLomax for this inspiring video. Did the donor hair section grow back?
Can you do an update on your hair transplant?!!
I had my FUE transplant on Monday. Didn't think they were shave all the back off. But oh well it'll grow back. My hair grows very very slow though.
I have a question so does the hair in the back grow the same?
That's exactly what I wanna know.. I've seen a few videos but no one ever mentions this part!
Hi, You are gorgeous 😍
i'm 2 weeks into my transplant journey. When did you start using rogain? How long did you use rogain for and when you stopped did the new hair fall off? Thanks fir the support.
Very informative!!! Thank you!!!
Surgery 5/17/2021 I’m so excited!!
Wow that last part gave me life!!! #theponytail 😍..I am interested in this procedure as well. Where Can I find information on this doctor . Thanks and god bless
Good luck!!
Your hair looks amazing!!!!! My hair looks very similar to the way hair looked before the procedure. I was quoted 3000 grafts by Dr Diep in 2013 and wasn’t sure about the A cell treatment but I chickened out. However, I’m now trying to overcome my fear of getting it done and would love to as you a few more questions. Thanks for sharing your journey with us.💕
Aww thanks, lady! It was def. one of the best decisions I've made. :)
You have me in tears it’s hope 4 me🤗
Thank you very much for sharing!!!!
You're so welcome! :)
Hey Terri, what shampoo and oils did you use after the transplant ?
Hello. I was considering doctor diep but his recent reviews have not been the best. Maybe his practices have changed. Being your surgery was aprox 3 years ago your experience may have been different. Did doctor diep do the implants for you himself or were the recepient follicles done by his technicians? Any long term complications or nerve damage? Scar heeled well?
He quoted me for 16k for a fut and 30k fue. Is that reasonable?
If you dont mind answering. Thankssss in advance
I would love an update in 2020
Please cost doctor location?
How many grafts?
Thank you for sharing!
You're so welcome.
Could you share the details of which doctor did your hair?
What is the location of the office you got your surgery done? Can you please share their information?
The price, we all wanna no the price
I know. A generic price range of $4k-$15 is listed on her website. This really isn't helpful, given we want to know what SHE paid with her doctor though. The video is great and detailed, just hate when people avoid price when it helps other people when saving and budgeting before taking the plunge. (a comment from a different patient said they were quoted $12k. Ouch)
I know this is 2 years later but what I found interesting was that despite the fact that you clearly had Traction Alopecia you still got a sew in? Why? I've seen many people getting transplants for the same reason and shortly go right back to the same styles that caused the balding.
It’s not necessarily a weave or braids that cause hair loss, but rather, the type and manner of weave or braids that are installed.
@@mofrowannabe I thought it is traction Alopecia .. yes? Well traction Alopecia isn't only from "tight" pulling of the hair. It is also comes from repetitious hair styling. Meaning it can happen from putting the weave in regularly rather installed with the lightest of touches or not. By no means am I judging you, I'm just curious.
How did you find a good doctor?
Hi Terri, I know you’re not suppose to put any oils on the recipient site for first year, but were able to do deep conditioning treatments under a dryer?
What is the cost please?
Where did you have your surgery ?
Your hair growth looks good, however it seem pretty counterproductive to go through all of that and put a weave in.
That's exactly what I was thinking!! I don't get it.
Thanks so much! I agree, it would be counterproductive if weave was the cause of my thin edges but it wasn't. I was extremely irresponsible with my hair and edges when I was younger (while wearing my natural hair and weave) but this time around I gravitate toward protective styles.
Oh Please, keep your negative opinion(s) to yourself. Just because Terry is gently wearing a small weave to enhance her hairline doesn't mean she's not cautious about her hair care. OMG, i can't stand opinionated folks. This is the MOST beautiful woman I have ever seen, please shut up and show some respect.
So you can’t stand your on opinionated ass than huh! I don’t care how “ small” a weave it is....weave wigs in general are harmful for your hair due to tension of any kind!!! No one said she wasn’t pretty 🙄....I’m speaking facts! Now take your dumb opinionated ( that doesn’t like opinions) ass somewhere else and find a life....that you clearly don’t have on this Saturday night 🤷🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️
I completly agree. Thousands and thousands of dollars and you still have to wear weave?
How much did the transplant cost?
Very informative .. thanks sweetie .. Did you feel anything during the time of the surgery .. and how was the experience right after .. also how was it going to sleep ?
You're so welcome! Nope, I didn't feel a thing when I was sleeping. The first 7 days post-surgery were rough and sleeping wasn't easy.
Hi great results. If u don't mind, what was the total price and do u have 2 use Rogaine?
Thanks so much! You can find more details on price ranges under question #6 here: mochagirlspitstop.com/hair-transplant-can-reverse-traction-alopecia-and-thinning-edges/
Also, I don't have to use Rogaine. :)
Michelle Beauty I got quoted for 12k so that’s nothing
@@naturallylii Thank you for your comment! Finally someone transparent with prices lol
I just did mine on the weekend. Yes I'm on day 4 my face is so swollen my eyes are swollen but i can't wait to see the end results. I'm following what your steps on what your doing too
Nice! Did you also go to Dr.Diep?
@@axa5005 No I'm in Toronto so i did it here
Hello! Can you share details on your doctor? Thanks!
What would you recommend wear on head to protect all the grafts for a long period of time
Hi terry, just got my procedure done last week. I’m on day 9 post op and according to my instructions was supposed to start trying to remove the scabs on day 8 but I’m so scared the grafts are going to come out. How did you handle this?
What do you put on your hair that is about the sutures ( that hair at the top of your head? Anything thar you put on your hair at the top will seep dowm into that suture area. Without putting something Id be afraid that hair will dry and break off.
Hello Terri. It's been a while since you've made this video and I just wanted to ask you how you feel about your hair transplant now that some time has passed. Are you still happy with the outcome? Do you have any regrets and if so can you share? Thanks so much for sharing.
hey lady! I love it! I'm so happy with my results. Feel free to connect with me on Instagram to see how I've been styling my hair lately. Best decision I've made hands down. :)
can you do another update ? also what’s the doctors name ? i live in the bay area and i’ve always been insecure about my widows peak since i was little
Please how much?
I really want this done. Stupid question but are u able to color or relax that are?
Were you able to wear a wrap or scarf during the first two weeks? I’m flying out 3 days post-op and wondering if I can use a scarf to wrap around the surgical cap
Need to know as well, but I was hoping to fly out 1 day post op and use a loose scarf.
How are you ladies liking your transplant?
@@ajaye4484 had mine with Diep and I’m not impressed. I was rushed during surgery and post-op care is nonexistent. I need a second HT and I’m currently looking into Mwamba based in Brussels or Natural Transplants (FL).
@@melanatedthinking I just went to natural transplant

Hello Terry,
What is the name of the doctor you used for your surgery and where is he located??? I need to do this procedure as a result of wearing braids and also using medical treatments that took out my hair to treat my multiple sclerosis. I want to get this done immediately. Please let me know! And thank you so much for your wonderful and informative videos.
