Dude, you almost gave me a heart attack as I thought you were retiring 😂 of course I’ll miss the channel, but I’d much rather see you successful and happy Richard. You haven’t said the last word as a pro athlete - far from it - or in any other role. Get out there and make us proud!
Thanks for the vids. Don't worry about the frequency. Focus on quality in your own time... Thoughts for videos: - funny backstories regarding events - hacks (eg bike packing tricks) - favourite races - interviews of other athletes (eg AB talking duathlon etc)
@@Rich_N_Rach There also seems to be an interesting emerging trend in long distance triathlon: the ITU/Olympic distance bikers (ie you) are doing well in 70.3 and the PTO cross-over races... I imagine you could do a few of those where you train to get to 10km in the run, and then hang on motivated by your position - the run is your strength after all ;-)
Great to see you again on this channel Richard , hope Rachel is recovering well , it’s great to see you and Rach on all the platforms as it gives a lot of inspiration. But you have a career to focus on , so just grateful for anything you put up. It must take a lot of time and effort.
Correct decision, good to hear the heart is good, your performances have been pretty solid and looking forward to seeing you improve and get back to your old form and beat those youngsters!
It seems producing constant media has become important for many triathletes. But it's worth noting that many don't. Jan, Patrick and many others don't. The pros that I knew never needed to do it. And I can't imagine them enjoying it. It's time consuming, distracting and invasive. My opinion is to stay away from it and focus on results. I think Sanders created such a media presence, which led to false expectations that he has not met, which actually hinders his performance.
Absolutely!!! Absolutely!!!! 👏👏👏👏 I mean, it had to be said... And for Sanders of course, it is exactly what I think too. "Reflecting on his races", that's what he does... He reflects, then what? Click baits... That's what It is in the end...
@@phxrsx Lionel constantly flip flop on issues. He might say something this week and change it next month. Maybe becoming a dad and having a long term couch will change some of that. I hope that he is self aware enough to know if the constant media is good for him or not. But I think it's created a public persona who's shoes are hard to fill. Anther issue is his zealot fans. That cannot be good for anybody.
We all love you Rich & Rachel. Always look after you first and most importantly, do what you love. We're here to support you all the way 🙂 Its fantastic that you're still racing at the highest level despite your heart. Best of luck..
Thank you for all your efforts on here. I am sure we all want to see you and Rachael be the best triathletes you can be and the insta accounts are awesome anyway. Your ideas sound great but even then I hope you wouldn't let it take away from your racing and general health. Always cheering for you two..
Being a top athlete is about being yourself and with yourself more. It takes you in and allows to become more reflective. Constantly making videos takes you out and reduces the joy of running/cycling etc.
I would definitely prefer specific videos as opposed to vlogs. Best wishes and good luck with your training. Was nice seeing your name on the leader boards again (All be it with the wrong flag :) )
@@Rich_N_Rach Just be careful not to try and get to much quantity. GTN and GCN are having that issue at the moment in my view, and they have lost a bit of their identity in doing so.
I’ve been following you from the first couple of videos. Very happy to see your recovery and back on track. Your message here was a great re-entry. I’m trying to make similar adjustments in my life - focus on the important stuff and doing less (not more) as a way to reduce stress, improve training and life. Video requests - stuff like this one is great (how a pro athlete manages the daily grind) and info on how you structure training (amount of intensity v. aerobic work) and strength/mobility in training.
Richard I'm just Happy to see you Back Racing, after the Journey You've had for the last couple of Seasons, It's more Important that you spend Quality Time with Rachel. Just Enjoy yourself.
From own recent experience I can empathise on the stress of overcoming A.Fib and ablation op - especially you being a pro athlete where the old ticker is fairly important 😊!! It takes a while to regain confidence and re-learn your limits - if indeed there are any. No extra stress needed! Take care.
All good, put your focus where it needs to be, we know you are an athlete first. I'd love to learn more about the process of switching which country you race for professionally. I've seen a few athletes do it and I've always been curious about how that works.
I will definitely miss the content. But I totally get it. Must be a ton of work to be constantly developing content, etc. Focus on training and life, we all respect that. I really enjoyed your pandemic 28 min solo 10k.
I loved your channel. I started watching because I loved the Super League stuff. However, my favorite vids were ones y’all did that were a bit outside of the normal big stage triathlon. Y’all would be great doing something like a Boundless (OutsideTV) or the older Dhani Tackles the Globe and jumping in to crazy events that’s not your strength. Anyway, congrats and we’ll done. Enjoyed the channel.
thank you . I really do enjoy the “fun” aspect of the videos that are random and fun , but I’m keen to give better information over to people VS a being an entertainer :-) Feel i’m here to give back info VS make funny videos
Cover the big race build ups like @TalbotCox did recently with Lionel Sanders. Even engage Talbot Cox to maybe do the odd one. All the best with the training the come back is going well. All the best The Rachel on the recovery 👍👍 Edit - I always comment before watching the whole thing through. 🙈😂😂
@@Rich_N_Rach what diffrences so you experience between Garmin 955 (?) and polar vintage v2. Do you think Garmin is a better watch than polar watches? I myself use vantage v2 but are thinking about getting a Garmin in the future.
That's quit a long time electrophysiologist, that perform ablations, talk about 2-4 week of easy training befor getting in for competing or high intensity workouts, but I guess that is different depending on wich doctor you talk to and symptoms that you have.

that’s the plan and idea 👌

As a pro athlete it is difficult to keep posting videos and focus on your training, go all in and wish you all the best, keep us posted
Great to hear you're health is slowly improving. I'd love to see more vids around swim improvement as I'm a crappy swimmer.
sure can look into those type of videos 🙌

How long after the ablation did you go back to high intense training, let’s say over 80% of your Max heart rate?
around 6 months
