I'm really happy for Jamal cause again his spirit was just gone. Great episode, I got chocked up alot during Tom's speech to Jamal and Alec's speech in court. Still stand by 94' being AMC's best
This was a great episode, thanks for posting it. I always wanted to see how, when, and why Alec let Tom and Livia keep Jamal. Alec has always made me ill (and after what he does a year from now with sleeping with Arlene and stealing Hayley's money, so much for true evolution smh) but I really admired and respected what he did in this episode. He FINALLY thought about Jamal, not just winning (which is all he really wanted) Rewatching many episodes I also loved Tom and Livia as a couple, their
Alec was definitely a slimeball, although I did like his villainous side (I tend to enjoy watching the baddies). One of my favorite clips to watch on any medium, be it a TV show or movie, is when someone, villain or not, makes a good decision in the interest of another innocent person(s).....it's akin to the ending in Mrs. Doubtfire when Sally Field's character agrees to the joint custody proposal Robin William's character suggested earlier in that film. This was no different and was handled great with Alec agreeing it was best to let Tom/Livia adopt Jamal. This also previously happened on AMC when Janet agreed to let Natalie adopt Amanda right before she went to prison.
As I work in law (I'm a paralegal), I really love watching these clips of the storyline with Jamal vs. Alec & of course involving Tom/Livia. It's not the kind of case you see everday and was interesting with the angle of the child suing the parent.
I've been stuck on that storyline too, and completely agree with you on all points. I wasn't watching AMC at the time, but remember Tom from waaayyyy back when he was with Erica.One of her many men. :-} Glad I've got some episodes you haven't seen in a while. Hope I have more.
I was watching, I watched AMC from 93-03 (with Noah/Julia being my fave part even though I think they only stayed about three years) Honestly, I didn't really remember Tom or Livia. Their a great couple and I hope they had a good ending (since IR pairings never seem to get them) I didn't know Tom was with Erica too lol. I'm glad for all the AMC episodes I have seen on YT. I'm sure you know but Munecojim and Destyne have alot of episodes too. I wish you or someone else had the episode when Noah
Livia and son Terrence were written off of the show towards the end of 1994. Tom and their other son Jamal left Pine Valley early to mid 1995. Jamal returned briefly in 1996 during Alec's embezzlement storyline, and again in 2005 I think.
