@@handdryersrule at least I hope so! I'd love to ride those! I've only ridden 2 Lexans in my life! I've never ridden any touches or Black Button unfortunately and I wanna do it!
@@BuildingToursForLife1660-4 Yea, I'm hoping to ride one at some point, but they're pretty rare out here. I do remember finding a gated Otis along with a black button in the same building once.
I've seen an otis (early 80s) that used a LED matrix type display, but instead of LEDs each 'hole/slot' had a neon lamp inside it! (i.e this was a "neon lamp matrix"). It flickered as well. Never seen this type though, looks like some kind a nixie tube.
EPIC MOTORS‼️ Awesome pumps‼️ VERY nice cabs as well‼️ I haven’t seen a Lexan with one of these indicators in a WHILE‼️ However, the door timers definitely need help. This is the one hotel in Gatlinburg I have actually not passed when I went there last year!
For the nixie tube, it can be done by using color filters, but this one here used edge-lit display which have the small glass for the numbers (or the incandescent lamp) colored with red (or by using the color filter). And I know that was the edge lit one cuz I do some research in a wiki and apparently the "3" was burned out.
Who agree’s that old technology is better than new tech in some cases?
Oh yeah, new elevators seem to break down more often then old ones.
Yes
I agree with you old things can be better and mainly I am and old stuff lover myself

This is EPIC! A Lexan with a red indicator!
It was amazing.
You're welcome for me telling you about these! Glad you enjoyed them!
They were amazing
That's right, folks-the nixie tubes!
These are actually edge-lit display, which was often confused with the nixie tubes (which looks similar).
Edge lit
I love these things!
Me too
I love the marble walls!
Me too
Cool cabs and absolutely beautiful elevators.
It is.
Aw sweet, nixie tube Lexans
Edge lit
dang, that elevator shaft must look nice. I wish we could see that and the motor room/etc.!
It would be awesome to see.
Gatlinburg is FULL of neat vintage Otises like this! Very neat how a lot of them haven't been modded yet
It really is.

That indicator could be the edge-lit display which mimics the nixie tube look, so thats why some of them are burned out instead of all of them.
It was awesome and thanks for watching Matt 😃😃
Elevation321 from Winnipeg has filmed these elevators back in July 2023.
Ok

@@DieselDucy yes sir!
How did they get this red indicator instead of an orange one?
