I just came across your videos. I met Xavier at the Zion Flute festival in 2008. I was blessed to be able to spend time with him when he moved to Phoenix, several years later. I have a bamboo flute that he made. I learned that my flute teacher was one of his students, Michael Quijas. Xavier was a master of many arts. Sad he left us too soon. Tlasocamati

I was discussing training with Xavier just a few weeks before his passing. He was a treasure of information and creative spirit! I was so disappointed I missed the opportunity to learn from him.

I just bought a replica Jaguar flute with the head of Quetzalcuat and it’s the start of my journey to keep the traditions of our ancestors alive. Your teacher’s spirit lives on with our people.

I met you and Xavier at the music festival at the Ohio gourd show in mt. Gilead Ohio.
Was the first time I ever smelled copal. I fell in love with him. Such a wise man, mingled with a very humble spirit.
At the time I was exploring life and trying to find direction….Xavier and Candace sent me a box of sage, copal and charcoals, and a beaded necklace , and a flute.I later found out that the necklace was a picture of peyote.
He was a good man, and his art was tremendous. I miss his smile and laughter.

What a beautiful and touching video! Could you please let me know why you let the smoke get inside the conch horn at the end of the ceremony? In Korea, we believe smoke can lead the spirits to the ceremonial venue, and sometimes, smoke can also purify.
