I had a bit of a windfall and bought an Ex875 tenor in silver plate. Yamaha tunes great, feels great in your hands and is a superb horn for any style. Between that, my 95xxx Mark VI and strong blowing early '30s Conn 10 M tenors, I am going to stop shopping. Lol

Hi - Either Sax would be more than capable of playing any genre to a high standard. It is the practice you do, the way you listen and play + the mouthpiece that will have the most bearing on how you progress with Classic Sax studying. Good luck :)

Hello, I wanna ask about the publish date of the tenor 875ex. Cause the alto version have 3 or 4 generations right? Does the 875ex tenor have the same technology and specs as the newest 875ex alto? Thank you very much/

Hi, the current variant of the Tenor is the 03. This is the model we review in this video, the main difference is the Tenor has the E1 neck, the Alto has the V1. Otherwise the specs are pretty much identical. The Alto is technically now onto the 05 version. It doesn't help that Yamaha don't really publicise these codes which can cause some confusion. However, both instruments in the video are the latest (as of Summer 2019). As I say, the Tenor is on the 03 and the Alto on the 05, however, the specs are identical apart from the neck.

@@dawkesmusic OMG, thank you so much. Yamaha really made these things confusing for their customers, lol. I finally figure out the connection between tenor and alto. Thank you again for the details!!! appreciate that.
